We booked Mount of Olives Hotel based on the recommendation of a traveler we met in Jordan. It was very sound advice. This is an older hotel that has clearly seen better days. However, it's unique location on the Mount of Olives provided great value for money. Our room had LCD satellite television, free Internet, a room safe, and hair... more

Good points about this hotel: - very helpful staff - modest prices - rooms are ok, with cable television but no air conditioning Bad points: - the surroundings are pretty noisy, with lots of cars passing in front of the hotel and, since the hotel is next to a mosk, you'll be awaken every morning at 5 a.m. by the... more

We liked this hotel, but it lacked basic amenities. No shampoo, no coffee maker, two thin bars of soap. No maid service, which was fine, but a change of towels after three nights would have been nice. The WiFi didn't work. The twin beds which we pushed together kept sliding apart, so if you want to sleep next to your... more

We stayed here for five nights and found it a short walk (albeit a hilly one) to the old city of Jerusalem. It is right next door to where it is said Jesus ascended into heaven and just down the hill is a church dedicated to His weeping over Jerusalem. Be prepared after a few days to want to order... more

We wanted to stay on the Mount of Olives because we are Christians and it is such a historical area. This hotel is supposedly right next to where Jesus ascended into heaven. It is in need of the carpet being replaced as it has tears on the stairs. The coffee at breakfast was instant coffee and served in thin plastic... more

We found the hotel to be exactly what we wanted in Jerusalem. Very clean - helpful staff - we arrived at 6am from our flight from the UK and the hotel staff encouraged us to have breakfast ( at no charge) and then made our room avaliable from 9am. The rooms were small but very clean. The only disadvantage was... more

The hotel was basic with a bad shower, but the location and staff made up for it. What a feeling walking out of the city walls, through the Kidron valley, passed the Garden of Gethsemane and up the Mount of Olives!! I absolutely loved staying here! The man at the desk was so helpful planning out the rest of my... more

This is a nice hotel for a very reasonable price. The economy room we were in was not fancy, but it was very comfortable and fit our needs really well. Breakfast (which was included) was good and we ate a good dinner there once for a really good price. The only downside to the hotel is it's location. While it... more

As a Christian pilgrim travelling to the Holyland for the first time, the feeling I had when staying at the Mount of Olives Hotel was truly special. Although clearly the Mount of Olives itself has changed considerably since the days when our Lord traversed its slopes and slept in its caves, a stay at this hotel gave me an amazing... more
