I loved this hotel. Here is my tip. Have a travel agent who specializes in Israel make your reservation. That's what I did. I paid the rate for the lowest category of room. They confirmed me at the next higher category, with the promise of an upgrade if available...which it was! That means that for the lowest rate (about $470... more

We stayed at a very busy time when the Hotel was full to capacity. That may explain why service was poor as staff seemed over-stretched. It really was a disappointment, it needs a refurb badly if it is to survive. Breakfast is in a cavernous room where you feel you might as well be in a 3 star hotel or... more

Views on this hotel seem are polarised between A - those who see it as an faded, overpriced place which arrogantly rests on its laurels and B - those who think it is fabulous. I am A. But I personally know lots of Bs and have been trying to work out how there can be such different views. I think... more

We have stayed last april in King David hotel. I just can say we had a wonderful experience. The rooms were nicely decorated (not huge) but the bathroom was quite big. Breakfast was excellent, you can find ANYTHING you want and everything tastes delicious. People were extremely kind at the reception and even when we came back for the last... more

I've reviewed the hotel before; stayed there a few years ago. Continues to be excellent; the club suite and amenities within are great. Service and food are excellent. Visited the David Citadel down the street; it is more contemporary but doesn't have the charm of the King David. I wouldn't switch. New gym and pool are mighty fine renovations. A... more

I was thrilled by a warm & personal welcome and a caring attitude of the King David staff. Upon arrival, I was accompanied to the room by a service centre escort and was offered a detailed hotel orientation and a great introduction to this magnificent city , through the room window. The view from the balcony is magnificent. By all... more

We were looking forward to staying at the King David, having seen the fantastic location and beautiful building many times. But this is a total let down: no idea of service: no one to pick up your luggage, rooms dirty, very dated decoration and lighting, food average to bad. Only good points are location, the view and the people who... more

King David by all means deserves its royal name. We came back after 4 years! a splendid décor, brand new health club, "techno gym" fitness equipment and a beautiful Finnish sauna. They've also completely rebuilt the swimming pool. Now it is a few meters longer, with a spacious covered kids' pool, a nice playground and jacuzzi. It's a pity, though... more

I stayed at the King David ten years ago and had a wonderful experience. Boy, have things changed. Booked the room due to my past experience and the wonderful location and view of the old city. They didn't tell me they had some renovations going on. The back of the hotel is all torn up....no gardens, no pool, just a... more

Probably one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed. The room was spacious, the lobby was always bustling with activity (but not in a noisy way), and you really feel like you are part of something special when you're there. I went for my brothers' bnai mitzvah, so we had 7 or 8 rooms booked. Nobody had anything bad to... more
