We visited the Golden Walls as part of a package with Mc Cabe pilgrimages of the UK and found it to be very satisfactory. The staff were most helpful and the location excellent, very close to the Damascus Gate. Not 4 star by UK standards but most suitable for our needs. The buffet service for both breakfast and dinner provided a... More

Very good location not far from the markets and famous sites, all within walking distance, the food was good and the staff were polite and helpful, slight dated decor but this was the only fault. Also tv in my room was not working, small quirk and I'm sure if I had mentioned this is it would have been resolved but... More

I booked this hotel through United Travel in East Jerusalem because I wanted my group to experience both the east and west parts of the city. It was the perfect location and provided comfortable accommodation, wonderful meals helpful staff and easy access to all of the city. We had a great time walking the neighborhood streets and had easy access... More

Stayed here on a pilgrimage tour in March 2012. A family run hotel with loyal staff. Great location overlooking the city walls and an easy walk through Damascus Gate into Old City and 10 mins to Holy Sepulchre for example. No lift from street to Reception (1 flight of stairs). Rooms are average 3 star business hotel style. Not the... More

This hotel is ideally placed for exploring all parts of the Jerusalem - especially the Old City and East Jerusalem. I have stayed here three times now and have received a warm, courteous and friendly welcome each time. The staff are always ready to assist in any way they can. It does feel a little rough and ready around the... More

As with other reviewers we have just returned from a McCabe pilgrimage and the Golden Walls was our base for six nights. Whilst it is amid the bustle of Arab Jerusalem it is immediately opposite the Old City and is perfectly placed for all the religious and secular attractions. The public rooms are on the first floor above the shops... More

Mostly catering for groups, the staff of this hotel can't do enough for you and with plenty of smiles. The rooms vary a bit in size, we had one round the back, no view but absolute quiet, and with a little sitting area. Sound travelled through the bathroom ceilings from next door so keep the bathroom door shut! Everything perfectly... More

Went on a McCabe-organised pilgrimage to Israel. The Golden Walls was our Jerusalem base. From the outside it looks a bit awful -- the (smart) doorway has scruffy Arab shops and accompanying trash on either side. But inside the stair and public areas are all fine. The hotel seems to be mainly used by pilgrimage parties. The company in Israel... More

Across the street from the Old City near Damascus Gate. Staff are very courteous. Many pilgrim groups from Europe come through here. The wireless works fine. Spent just over a week there as part of an educational trip. One block from West Jerusalem which allows one to easily see the contrasts. More
