This hotel isn't the most attractive from the outside, at ground floor level there are small shops. You walk up a flight of stairs for reception (Staff happy to help with luggage). Having arrived late at night, we were met with some light refreshments, before being allocated our rooms. Rooms are well airconditioned and clean, albeit on the small side.... More

Just finished a stay here with a group of 30 people on a pilgrimage. From the outside you might look at the area and be put off (but this is a very busy and diverse area of Jerusalem) once inside you get a new perspective of a large and very welcoming hotel. This is not a 5 star hotel but... More

I found this Hotel very comfortable and perfectly located to explore the Old City. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the food good and plentiful with a lovely selection of delicious local dishes. The roof top was a superb vantage point from which spectacular views of the Old City can be enjoyed. The BBQ evening meal served on the... More

As part of a group pilgrimage to Israel, we stayed for six nights at The Golden Walls Hotel in Jerusalem. It is situated in the Arab quarter, close to the Damascus gate. This review is of two halves. To begin with, we were quite disappointed with the first room we were given. Despite stating to the Pilgrimage Company we requested... More

I have just returned from a trip to Israel/Palestine and was lucky enough to stay at the Golden Walls hotel (formerly Pilgrim's Palace). It is situated just outside the Old City Walls near the Damascus Gate, fabulous location and just a few minutes walk into the Old City. The staff are excellent, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.... More

Stayed twice between trips elsewhere. Great location 3 minutes wander to gates of old city. Caters for a lot of groups, but also holiday makers. Location can't be beaten. Food excellent. Bar prices quite reasonable. Our room recently renovated and the roof top bar area has a great view. Front desk will also give you a good price for local... More

I stayed in this hotel back in 1999, and I worried about whether we would have a good experience when we booked this hotel for our trip to the Holy Land this year, but I found the hotel vastly upgraded. You have to climb some steps up the lobby on the second floor, but it is now very nice. The... More

Although it's nothing much to look at from outside, the Golden Walls hotel is a lovely family-run hotel in East Jerusalem. It's location just off Jaffa Gate means that it's in easy strking-distance of central Jerusalem e.g. the suqqs and the Wailing Wall. The buffet meals were consistently good and the staff were incredibly obliging. I was staying with a... More

Stayed here a few nights pilgrim style. Room & en suite were compact and dated, but quite adequate for a base to tour City Centre & surrounding area. Good selection of food on hot buffet and quality & service were all excellent. There is some noise from the local mosque, at prayer time but this is very short lived. Located... More

The hotel was recommended to me by my friend from Jerusalem and indeed it was a great option. I spend there 5 days (4 nights). It is a very nice hotel, situated between Damascus Gate and Herod’s Gate, so it is so easy to get from it to the Old Town. I had so specious and nice room, with an... More
