We stayed here while on pilgrimage. It was a really good place to stay. The local staff were friendly, the facilities were very good - comfortable and spacious rooms,The food was consistently good; buffets for breakfast and dinner, where food was fresh, varied, and continually replenished. It's a splendid position - yards from the walls of the Old CIty, near... More

Stayed here in early November. If you are looking for location, this is the place. If you are looking for luxury, this isn't the place. The Old city wall is across the street. The location to the Damascus Gate of the Old City is just down the street. Light rail is a short walk. The breakfast buffet is adequate but... More

The room and food were above expectations. Really, UNLESS you're a hotshot snob expecting gold taps and pretending friendly but actually resentful slave servants, this is an absolutely fine hotel for normal people like me. Good people, good food, good service, good rooms, good cleanliness, good beds. Very good location.

Very comfortable beds, rather ordinary rooms, although with all amenities, including free wifi. Staff helpful and hotel had a homely feel with a welcoming bar/lounge area and lovely roof terrace with great view.Good location near the walls of old city and Damascus gate.Buffet style food was reasonable, especially breakfast. Overall,an enjoyable stay and a pleasant hotel.Would rate good if that rating was available.Better than... More

Stayed at the Golden Walls, for the second time in three years, for four nights earlier this month on a McCabes pilgrimage. The hotel is as good as ever; restaurant food (all buffet style) probably better than last time, drinks prices unchanged since 2012. Again had a room on the main floor overlooking the old City walls, smaller bathroom this... More

With an unattractive entrance and three flights of stairs ahead, you might be forgiven for thinking this is a budget hotel, but it isn't! The lounge area looking out over the walls of Jerusalem is delightful and the room I had was very nice. The restaurant food perhaps left a little to be desired but it was perfectly acceptable with... Right next to access to the Old City and easy access to trams, bus station, shopping. Very helpful and friendly staff, who were very apologetic that the wifi wasn't working. They stored my luggage for me when I was away on a short trip for a day. Breakfast had many choices and sas very delicious. The was room was clean... More

Returned from our second visit here and good to see that the owners have upgraded the hotel and kept ugly beautifully clean. Not much to look at from the outside, but inside met by excellent staff in all areas, clean rooms and fresh buffet food, superbly prepared and presented. Comfy sitting area for a beer after the meals and reasonable... More

We stayed here on our McCabe Pilgrimage Tour. Arrived about midnight and a cold meal was waiting for us. Staff were very friendly and most helpful. I was glad I read that the outside of the hotel does not look ideal - it doesn't and it would have been a shock arriving late at night to see all the armed... More

Another great stay with a pilgrimage group, Staff could not have been more helpful with our mobility restricted members - especially the wheel chair. And the dining room service -especially at breakfast- was very attentive too. Thanks again - we'll be back
