A pleasant experience, with a great location in the old city and an amazing view from the terrasse. Good bargain and nice staff. I really appreciated that it's an open place and nobody asked me about my religion. It's like a guesthouse but it's also interesting to meet the pilgrims.

Quite simply a gem! On the Via Dolorosa and within minutes of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, The Dome of the Rock and the Western Wall. Boasts a quite superb patio area that provides views across many of the Old City's sights. This is not a party hostel, but that suited my needs perfectly. The doors are closed at... More

Our group of 4 women stayed for 1 week at Ecce Homo Convent during April 2013. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We had a quad room (4 beds) with our own private bathroom. The room as well as the rest of the hotel was extremely clean all the time and the beds were very comfy. The convent was... More

For ten nights we lived in the Muslim Quarter; an experience we will not forget. The convent was our sanctuary in the controlled chaos inside the walls. Every call to prayer reminded us of where we were, in a good way. The nuns and volunteers were gracious, and encouraging. The pilgrims we met in the dining room came from a... More

We stayed at Ecce Homo for 8 nights this time - and still need to return to see more. I love waking to the sound of the muezzin - and not just any muezzin- this is the one from the Dome of the Rock! Was quite sorry to begin sleeping through it after a few days. Food, rooms, Internet access... More

I liked Ecce Homo Convent/Guesthouse (I stayed there 4 days at the beginning of my month in Israel, and I chose to stay there again -- for 3 more days -- at the end). However, there's two things travellers should be aware of. First, for some odd reason, they do NOT stock the private en-suite rooms with soap (you need... More

The rooms are very simple but clean and comfortable, and the common areas of the convent are wonderful: a nice reading room with wifi, terraces with excellent views, and the archaeological sites on the lower levels of the convent are amazing. Location is very convenient, a short walk to the Damascus gate, Jerusalem light rail, the Arab bus station. A... More

We had a swonderful stay at this convent, very friendly, peaceful atmosphere over the Christmas season. We would have stayed for 2 more days, in hindsight, instead of going to Bethlehem for 23,24 Dec. and done the great festivities at the Convent for Christmas. Be prepared to have spotty wifi, and it does not work in rooms, only common room... More

Staying there for the second time within a year, this is still at the top of my list for "Must Stays" in Jerusalem! It offers the best view of the Old City and with the rooftop terrace with the table and chairs, 24-hour coffee counter, loads of books to read, cleanliness and safety, this is simply the best place! No... More

The Ecce Homo convent is a real retreat, a quiet place for pilgrims to rest away from the rough and raucous crowds. After a day in the souks or holy sites, it's like your mama's house--not showy or luxurious but safe and clean. Looking down over the railing early in the morning, you can watch groups of pilgrims as they... More
