If your purpose is to stay in a friendly cheapish hotel next to the Old City, then this is it. The breakfast is ok, the rooms and bathrooms adequate and the staff lovely. Niggles are the small threadbare towels, the sheets that are a bit small for the bed and an aged decor. But it is convenient and not very... More

the hotel is too old to stay. the lift is very slow and noise with manual door opening the only positive point is that it is near the old city and if you intend to visit Aqsha Mosque this will only take few minutes walks

The location of this hotel is the most attractive feature as it is in the heart of the old city. The places of religious interest are virtually at your door. I stayed there with my family for 7 nights in late January and am very pleased that we did so. It offers very good value for money. The staff are... More

There are certainly other places in Jerusalem and, more precisely, East Jerusalem providing more luxe and glitz. I'd, however, always return to Capital Hotel because of (1) its location making it possible at virtually any time of the day or night to stroll to Damascus gate and slip into the Old City; plus it's is just a short walk to... I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions (not by choice - I was working with an NGO and this is the hotel where they put us up). This time, I was with a group of women who decided that we'd trade luxury for convenience (it is close to the Old City!), and put up with the less than... More

I stayed at the Capitol Hotel for four nights with a group in October 2014. This is a hotel that seems stuck in 1967...which is not all bad. The service is very friendly and very accommodating of needs. Coming as it did toward the end of my long trip to Israel and the West Bank, the hotel were very kind... More

This is an old hotel, but has everything needed for a trip to Jerusalem. It lies in East Jerusalem, and it's easy to come to all the holy places you want to see in Jerusalem. Only 5-10 minutes walk, and you're straight into the Old Jerusalem. The rooms are avarage, with air condition and okay bathrooms. The beds are the... More

A video is worth a thousand words. http://youtu.be/K1n2iFRW9_0 This hotel is a filthy dump. When I checked in the bathroom floor was covered in water. The bellman saw it and ignored it. I flushed the toilet and sewage water gushed out of the toilet base. The toilet should have been replaced 30 years ago. It was covered in slime and... More

It was OK for that price but it could be better. First I asked for a quiet room but was given the room on the first floor in the beginning of the corridor. I could hear everything. It was a bit dirty but the linen was clean - it was good. Yes, everything was very very old. Water pressure was... More

I'm not going to sugar coat it. The rooms are serviceable but do not qualify as nice. It's very old an shows it. It's clear that it was fairly nice a long time ago, so it has all the amenities. The staff was very nice and helpful — the manager even help me with a dispute over a taxi fare.... More
