Far too expensive for what it is - essentially a sort of downbeat and pretty tacky 3 star hotel. Absolutely packed: it doesnt have its own beach, no room around the pools. Food pretty average and service perfunctory. Checked out early. more

I was a bit concerned about this stay given some of the reviews but was most pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and comfortable, including a very good bed. The bathroom was large and beautiful. There was also a nice balcony overlooking the Red Sea. The room was quiet. The service was impeccable - everybody was kind and helpful. The... more

Let's start from the beginning, shall we? our trip "gang" consisted of my husband (30), me (26), our baby (6 months old) and my parents (both in their late 40s). We have arrived at the hotel on Friday at around 5 pm. The check in according to the hotel "rules" is at 4 pm, but I guess things were not... more

On my way back from a lovely trip to Sharm El Sheikh (Four Seasons, 5 star+), I stopped one night at the Herods Palace. I travel a lot but this is some of the worst value for money I have ever experienced. The building is nicer than many of the other hotels in Eilat but still very dated and poorly... more

Herods Palace Parking - There is a good but not big free underground parking. A guard in the entrance checks your name+room no. Surprisingly there was never a problem to find place. However, there was no elevators from the parking to the Hotel itself, only several entrances with ~2 floors of stairs so you’d better drop down your luggage at... more

Stayed four nights on a two week trip with extended family. Hotel was a pleasure! Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the activity desk and the concierge. Food was incredible, especially for Sabbath dinner/breakfast. Beach isn't crowded- they are at the end of the row of beach-front hotels, so you only have Herod's folks at the beach. Pool was very... more

This is one of the finest hotels to date in Israel and considered the best hotel in Eilat. It is at the end of the promenade and features three buildings: Herods Forum, Herods Vitalis, and Herods Palace. The forum is a cheaper hotel and not situated directly on the beach but rather across the street. The palace is the main... more

For over $300 a night, I was concerned about the 3.5 rating this hotel had. I went anyway, hoping that most of the reviews that rated it a '5' were correct. I voted it a complete 5 after staying there. The room was luxurious, albeit a bit old. And by 'old,' I mean that the furniture was not all completely... more
