We arrived in the evening, got a room and, at the reception, a card from the hotel. There it says: "home cooked meals". Left the luggage, went down and asked about dinner. "You can go to city center or just walk to the mains street..." Bathroom was OK but hot water just dripping from the shower. "Satelite TV in common... more

We stayed two nights early October and found the owner to be all smiles until we took the room then just indifference, even though he wasn't busy! We had a spacious room with a double in one room and two singles in another with a bathroom in between but the shower was luke warm at best. The hotel is run... more

Not sure about that place. Some good points and some less. Some of the staff (all from the same family) nice and friendly, some less. Clean rooms. Good location for the usual visits (Ephesus, St Jean). Quiet place. Awful dinner there. I recommend to walk 2 min away and to go in any of the place in the pedestrian area.... more

We stayed at Hotel Nazar for 4 nights in July. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the family was very friendly and helpful. One of the older sons picked us up at the bus station and drove us back to the hotel, two minutes away. (When we were leaving 4 days later another son drropped us... more

The Hotel Nazar is everything you could wish for in a Turkish hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights in mid July, so I was able to get to know the place well. It is a family owned and operated business and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, and Osman the owner is very personable and fluent in... more

We stayed in the Hotel Nazaar in June 2009. We were between 2 destinations so did not have much time here. The owner was helpful and the room was clean. The breakfast was delicious and the view from the rooftop terrace of the nearby castle great. But the room was only slightly larger than 2 single beds. But I still... more

The Nazar is a bit up-market, but it justifies the price (about $50 in June). It's definitely a family-run operation, with Dad in charge and a couple of grown sons doing the work. You need to get buzzed in from the street, so you never need worry about security. Rooms are large, with new, comfortable beds and very modern bathtrooms.... more

This family run hotel provides a very warm welcome and Osman and his brother were perfect hosts. Their mother made a lovely breakfast each day which set us up for all the nearby excursions. In the summer she cooks meals which are served in the garden and on the roof terrace (which is said by all to be great). There... more

We stayed at Nazar in early September for a couple of nights. We had 2 rooms - a single room, with a double bed, and a twin room, which in fact was a triple room with a balcony. PROS: 1. I think the hotel was recently renovated because everything in the rooms looked clean and fresh. I really liked how... more

We were likewise approached at the bus station at Izmir by the owner so thought we'd have a look. We did feel a bit annoyed that the owner was all smiles and friendliness (an uncommon thing in Turkey, despite what others say) and then all that friendliness died the minute we took the room. The joys of travelling ! GOOD... more
