The Wallabies Aquaduct hotel is centrally situated along the pedestrian walkway in the quaint little town of Selcuk, Turkey (site of the world-renowned Ephesus ancient city) overlooking the remains of an equally ancient aquaduct. The hotel's name conjures up the idea that the owner may by from the land Down Under, but that did not turn up to be the... More

Lonely Planet seems to truly live up to it's name and certainly comes from another planet unfamiliar to us when it comes to its choices of places to stay and eat. They're way off the mark in many cases and seem to not review the good places. They also seem to not be able to see beyond the faces of... More

This review is mostly about Wallabies' hospitality more than the accommodations. Yea like most of the reviews say, the hotel isn't that great BUT Jeff and his family really do their best to make their hotel you're home. We felt like part of their family and when we checked out, Jeff made sure to give us his contact information and... More

We stayed here for one night and the room was dusty, smelly and very old. Especially, the bathroom is mouldy and leaking from the tap which is disgusting. This place was supposed to be renovated according to Lonely Planet but our room certainly looked 40 years old. It was cold and the provided blanket which I felt like I didn't... More

We stayed here in August and were satisfied with our stay. They were very kind and helpful. They put us in a stinky room to begin with but moved us when we complained. The wifi only worked in the hallway...luckily we didn't need it at that point. We learnt later on that most cheap hotels in Turkey that guarantee wifi... More

The host was very welcoming but is a persistent soul. Worst was that it was particularly annoying to be told insistently that there was no problem with the hot water (there was in fact no hot water, despite running it for for over 20 minutes on each occasion we tried to have a shower) and that the WIFI worked ('There... We chose not to trust the bad reviews and we were terribly mistaken.Nothing was functioning in the room: no hot water,no air condition, very dark, old and extremely dirty. We asked at the reception if they could change our room or make any repairs but we were arrogantly refused. In the middle of the night we wanted to go to sleep in the car... We stopped at Selcuk for a day to visit the ruins of Ephesus. The stay was comfortable but the hotel is in need of repairs - you will easily see that from the very doorstep. The well laid out restaurant outside is pretty relaxing after a long day with the fountains and the old world charm of monumental structures around.... More

I recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It is in a great location, right in the heart of Selcuk but I think that is about the best thing you can say for it. We were told we were to be in the recently refurbished rooms. Yes, they had been recently refurbished but so badly they might as well not... More

Hello First of all thank you for choosing us. Some problems could be anywhere. But there is hot water 24 hours a day. There are some limitations to our rooms for the new made. and we are doing our best to resolve. Thank you for your comment. More

This is the first hotel you encounter coming from the train station. Location is a good, on a pedestrian street of cafes and restaurants. On arrival I requested a refurbished room, which the manager termed as "luxury" and charged me a higher rate for. While it was clean and recently decorated it was small and nothing special. No TV or... More
