Stayed here for 10 days with family and it was terrible. We were given a room in the old part of hotel on the first night - terribly noisy (despite closed windows), disgusting bathroom and no heating. Changed rooms the next day to the newer floor... tiny room and still noisy. Breakfast was average and the same every day. Will... More

The location was simply the best, super close from the metro station "marmaray" and the tramvay station "sirkeci". The staff are super friendly and very welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay at the viva hotel and if I come to Istanbul again, I would definitely book in the viva hotel <3

The hotel is situated strategically at the old city of Istanbul. Only walking distance to some famous tourist spots and to the beach which I love to see. Walking distance to one of the bridge and it was lovely just to pass by this bridge and looking at around you. Restaurants nearby are many. My birthday relaxing holiday is worthwhile.... More

Rather than stay in the Sultanahmet area by the Blue Mosque, I chose OCV because it's also close to the Golden Horn, Galata Bridge, Bosphorus boats, Spice Market and Topkapi. (Blue Mosque is till only 10-12 minute walk.) I was happy to find the area more "real," sitting on the border between tourist and local. Turn right out the front... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
