We didn't stay at the hotel but enjoyed three late afternoons on their rooftop terrace overlooking the sea and watching the world go by. Extremely pleasant bar manager who gave us enough space without ever stinting on service. There are many rooftop terraces but this one must be one of the best for views of the sea. Nice Turkish house... More

We booked a double room for two nights. The location is perfect: 3 minutes walking to Blue Mosque and 3 minutes to Agia Sophia. The room was very comfortable and luxurious, cosy bad, modern and clean bathroom. Being on the first floor, the room (205) hadn't a proper window but a half window somewhere on the floor level! Anyway, we... More

Had no food but only drinks. Location had cold Efes, good open wine, friendly service and definetely a very good view. Music was a bit too much hip hop and windows of the terrace where not clean but still great to hang around and have a drink. Worth a return.

The hotel is very nicely located in the heart of Sultanahmet. The staff was good and the room was clean. But it the interior was not so appealing. The breakfast was decent enough. The hotel is walking distance from the blue mosque and ayasophia meuseum and grand bazar which are the main tourist attractions of the city. There is a... More

We spent 5 nights here and found a clean, warm and friendly hotel with good beds, linens and showers. The staff could not do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The airport transfers arranged by the hotel were seamless and excellent value, as were the excursions offered by the hotel. Breakfast was good, I would personally liked... More

Convenient location. Very helpful staff, excellent meals and comfortable room. Our flight was delayed and we arrived late. Staff worked late and served an excellent evening meal. At all times staff did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Great introduction to Istanbul. Would love to stay again

Spent seven nights and highly recommend it. The staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel is very clean. Our beds were very comfortable with nice linens and the bath had a large rain shower. The rooms are rather small but that is typical. Breakfast was included with a big selection of foods to choose from. Another plus was it was... More

We stayed at the Amiral Palace during off season. We have NEVER stayed anywhere as comfortable, friendly and caring for guests. Metin the concierge treated us like family. Our room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The one time the heat didn't work due to building updates we were immediately given a space heater. The next day the central heat... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
