That was my first time in Istanbul and the choice of Berk Guest House didn`t frustrate me at all! Really good location! You can investigate all popular touristic places just walking. When I wanted to go somewhere further, the staff of the hotel helped me, gave me all directions, maps and every advice was very helpful to me. The room... More

I stayed at the Berk Guest House for two nights with my partner and couldn't have been happier. - The location is perfect: centrally located and about as close to all the Sultanahmet sights (Blue Mosque/Hagia Sophia/Topkapi Palace etc) as you can get - The staff are very friendly and helpful. They really went above and beyond, making sure we... More

I've stayed with my mother and sister for 4 nights and we couldn't have asked for a better accommodation. Location was perfect - walking distance from all major old city attractions and close reach to public transportation to anywhere in Istanbul. Room was big, clear and nicely decorated; breakfast delicious - with a freshly baked cake different everyday which was... More

Berk Guesthouse was the absolute best all around! The staff was wonderful, the rooms were big and clean, the location was maximal. The hotel was walking distance (probably about 50 steps!) to the Sultanahmet area where the Blue Mosque/Hagia Sophia/Topkapi Palace are located. The rooms were very clean with AC and WiFi. Jinet, the manager, was absolutely lovely and wonderful... More

The Berk Guesthouse is a family-run B & B with renovated rooms, an elevator, and a roof top patio with a breath taking view of the old city. The location is ideal: equidistant form the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sophia and near the tram. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Istambul.

Room was clean and roomy enough for us. People were great and everything was clean. Located in historic district. Everything within walking distance. Price very reasonable and includes good continental breakfast. Would definitely go again.

We stayed at the Berk Guesthouse for three nights this May; my family of six, son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and my husband and myself. First, the city is awesome! Second, the Berk is awesome! Our hostess, Jinet, the manager of the guesthouse, could not have been more wonderful. The guesthouse itself is located within sight of the Blue Mosque, so... More

This guesthouse is almost exactly in the middle of Sultanahmet which is where you'll find the most famous mosques of Istanbul, the museums and all the nice places where you can eat. Considering the location, the prices are totally affordable. We initially booked for 1 night but ended up staying at Berk Guesthouse four nights because we loved it so... More

Grandma's Berk Guest house is a great place to stay. The staff is so welcoming and really makes you feel like you are at grandma's, in a way. A nice breakfast is included in the reasonably-priced hotel. It's also in a great location, within 5 minutes of the Haggia Sofia. Taxi wouldn't drop us near it for some reason but... More

Great experience, great location (close to main attractions, no traffic, quiet and lovely street). The staff were just great and made our babygirl feel at home. If you're looking for a big room with flowers everywhere then you should go to the 4 seasons. Berk is highly recommendable if you looking for somewhere where you'll feel at home.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
