The location is perfect, you are basically staying right in the center of the town, very clean. However really small rooms (especially bathroom) and breakfast saloon is also very narrow but familiar. People working for the hostel are helpful and gives you indications if needed, they take care of parking your car but you need to leave the keys at... More

I stayed in Tulip Guesthouse with my mother for 3 nights and 4 days in Istanbul. The location is truly unbeatable, especially if like us you only have a short time in this amazing city. It is literally 2 streets behind the Hagia Sophia. Our room was sparkling clean, contained everything we needed including a great hot shower, and the... More

Tulip Guest house was so good we stayed there twice! We only booked our room at Tulip for a few nights initially when we go to Istanbul, but it was so great we extended our stay there for our whole time in Istanbul. Esin (the lovely hostess) was really nice, always helpful, always smiling and always ready to give local... More

Great choice for budget travelers, as it looks like a students' dorm - and the atmosphere is really cool! Small rooms (no tv, no safety box); very steep stairs to get up to the "terrace", which is actually a kitchen on the top floor with 2 big windows. In the morning you will find an extremely kind Turkish woman who... More

My mom and I stayed here for about a week and it was a really good hotel. Esin and the other staff were very nice. It is quiet in the rooms but the hotel is near activity and people. The staff will help you with tours and special stuff around the city.

I stayed at The Tulip Guest House this past week with friends and was greeted with the warmest welcome by Esin. The rooms are clean and the staff if very accommodating offering laundry services, recommendations, and daily breakfast on the top floor with a beautiful view. Esin answered all of questions with enthusiasm and a big smile, and helped us... More

This was the best deal we could find near Blue mosque. Hotel is run by a family. Staff are super friendly and polite. There's great view from the top floor where they serve delicious breakfast that's included in price.

The hosts of this place make it really special. Esin is a charming lady, always doing her best to help and assist us. Hostel facilities are new and nice, the rooms are cleaned daily and the terrace breakfast is plentiful. This hostel is an excellent deal, highly recommend to stay here.

Booked this charming place online. After booking I received an email with an offer for a "comfort room" upstairs for an extra 10 Euros. I agreed to this and was glad I did. Our room was larger than the rooms downstairs with a little corner with a table and two chairs. Lovely view over the rooftops to the Bosporus. It's... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
