Simply - great place. Perfectelly located, near Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque, 100 meters from tram station, in quiet street. Staff is very friendly and willing to help you with anything. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is on top floor with amazing view on Bosphorus. Highly recommended.

The is a gem. It is within close walking distance of so much of what you come to Istanbul to see: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Constantinian Cisterns, Grand Bazaar, and Tokapi Palace. For other sites, it is very close to the water and the Metro so then quite easy to get to most place you want to go. The beds... More

We recently stayed at Tulip Guesthouse and it was great! The location can't be beat, it's quiet and comfortable, and the beds are awesome after a long day (I'm 7 months pregnant so you know I'm picky!)! The breakfast is also very tasty and Esin and her family are lovely and welcoming - very helpful. I highly recommend this place... More

We are a group of three best friends that took a short city break. Tulip house was the best solution! Location is perfect for anyone interested in sightseeing - located in the city center, just 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque (no need for any public transportation). Hotel stuff was more then friendly - it felt like... More

I think I have figured out why The Tulip guesthouse is so popular and highly rated. The secret is its staff - friendly, helpful and polite. Additionally I have to mention clean rooms, plain but plentiful breakfast, pleasant prices and ideal location. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Tulip Guesthouse on two occasions this past October. It was very clean, quiet and serves a wonderful breakfast along with views of the Bosphorus. The manager, Esin, is a wonderful lady with a big smile who is very welcoming, gracious and helpful. Centrally located close to all the main tourist sites but... More

Tulip Guesthouse is a small and cozy guesthouse in the heart of Istanbul's old city. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The location is VERY central: only a 5-10 minutes walk to the main attractions (Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and the main streets for restaurants). The room we stayed in was a small double... More

Everything about this hotel was wonderful! The rooms were small, but very clean and well appointed. The views were tremendous. The wifi connectivity was great. The Breakfasts were AMAZING! The best two things about this hotel were the location and the management. In about 3 minutes you will find yourself between Sultanahmet mosque and the Aya Sofia. Amazing! The brother... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
