We were booked in here as part of a tour and this is not normally something I would book. We were only there for about 8 hours, basically somewhere to lay the head before moving on. I would rate it as suitable for this, if spending an extended period of time there are much better places available. Found the staff... More

To be blunt this hotel isn't all that impressive. However it is in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul. Well... sort of. You see it is more in the area of Aksoray/Laleli and that's not a salubrious part of the inner city. Having said that I found the staff very friendly and up for a laugh and that helps because you'll... More

Stayed here for two nights prior to a Tour. This hotel is nothing like the professional pictures, not the room we stayed in anyway. Our door did not close securely, and all furniture and fixtures were very run down/damaged and the room was extremely small. There are other hotels with similar prices in the area, but if you need a... More

After arriving and finding a long steep staircase, we arrived at reception, to find no one spoke english. they then wanted to keep our passports (well that was not going to happen). the rooms were small and the bathrooms looked like they needed a massive overhaul. the hotel is in the middle of the garment district and the reception area... Art Otel is located in SultanAhmet part of Istanbul, which has great connections to basicaly all sites you need to see. Tram station is a 2 min walk from the hotel, and Grand Bazaar is just a 10 min walk away. So, location is good. However, everything else is just straight average. Food is plenty in numbers but not entirely... More

Hotel is located in the center of city, that is very good. But that is all. Old rooms, old furniture (destroyed). Shower was destroyed too. Often problems with electricity, we were without electric when we arrived. It was dark (9pm) and the reception man said - wait 10 minutes. But this problem was only on our room and finaly we... I was there before some days it was our biggest nightmare ever. When we have to check in they gave us a key but the room was not cleaned. We have to wait one hour to cleaned it. We was on the fifth floor and our view was to the roof of the nearest other hotels. When i got out... More

This hotel is as described in prior reviews; old and cramped, but for a budget hotel that can be forgiven. What is unacceptable is there was no hot water for our stay. Istanbul is 10degrees outside and a cold shower is simply unacceptable, even for a budget hotel. Be prepared to walk significant distances and stairs to your room and... More

I have just returned from staying in this hotel with my pensioner Mum (lots of steps). The city break was booked through an agency, so I had no idea until we arrived just how bad a 'dump' this hotel is. Receptionists are rude and speak no English. This hotel is for street traders and local people only. Rooms are like... More
