Over New Year's Eve I spent an unforgettable week in this cute, little hotel. Right from the start the hotel team's warm hospitality made me feel very welcome and comfortably accomodated. A plate with the typical Turkish breakfast (composed of olives, tomato, cucumber, honey, jam, cheese etc.) and coffe and tea made up the daily start for the time of... More

My wife and I stayed at Med Cezir hotel for four days during new years and really enjoyed our stay. We see allowed to check in early after arriving on overnight transportation. The room was clean and luxurious. Especially for the price. There was Wifi in the room. Although it wasn't that great a connection, it was adequate for booking... More

The location is ideal for visiting the old parts of the city. Could not have been more convenient! Clean, and well-kept, and the staff and owners were very kind and helpful with all questions I had. They went out of their way to help us connect to other travelers in our group and I felt I could rely on them... More

From other reviews of Med Cezir I knew it was not that fancy with small rooms but very pleasant staff and an excellent location. This was exactly the experience I had as well. The hotel is very basic. The entrance and reception are nicely decorated but had limited space. The rooms are tiny with the bed taking up most of... More

We spent here 3 nights and we loved it! The price was good, the breakfast wasn't bad and, for people that need it, the wifi connection was fast! Good location for a lot of touristic points and accessible by local transportation. The people were really helpful and friendly. We arrived really early in the morning, hoping that we can at... We arrived to the hotel around 10 am before the check in time, and the owner welcome us and left us accommodate in our room straight away. At that time the neighbourhood where the hotel is located was suffering a water cut, but the owner explained to us that there was nothing to worry about cause the hotel had a... More

There I was in my first time in Istanbul knowing nothing about the hotels there and I am glad I reserved in this gem, with a shared bath room, with a couple of stairs to get in the room but it compensates with the cleaness, well located, excellent warm treatment. In the heart of Sultanahmet, couple of steps from the... More

We had only one night at the Med Cezir hotel but were really happy with our choice. the room was large, comfortable and quiet which can be hard to find in Sultanahmet. We checked in very late following a Gallipoli tour and we were tired after a long bus ride in the rain. the staff were friendly and welcoming and... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
