My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at Ahmet Efendi Evi and would highly recommend it. From our airport pick up, check in, breakfasts until our check out, the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive and welcoming. Mehdi, the hotel owner, is incredibly knowledgable on local sites and sat us down for a personalised summary... more

Excellent location within easy walking distance of Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. We had the Terrace Room with a peek-a-boo view of the Blue Mosque. The room was small but comfortable, lots of hot water, but rather low water pressure. The front desk staff were very helpful, informative and friendly. Good value. more

Never thought that the magic word of "hospitality" still existed. Rooms beautiful and clean. Managers and staff with a large heart for their guests, simply sublime. All necessary information can answer them in 5 languages. All important curiosities in a jet of 100m. A real must ! more

The hotel was very clean and our room (on the top floor!! So quite a decent climb) had a balcony with a view of... more

From the welcome to the farewell, our stay at the Ahmet Efendi Evi was just fabulous. Mehdi and his staff were warm & welcoming, made you feel at home and offered lots of useful tips on making the most of our stay in Istanbul. The rooms were a good size, clean, fresh (no smoking in the premises) and the beds... more

Stayed at this guesthouse for two nights and were made to feel very welcome. The house is well located in the older district of Istanbul within walking distance of the Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was freshly prepared and tasty. Along with the Kismet Cave House in Goreme and the... more

We arrived for a two night stay before going on to our home town in Izmir, and I can say we have never been treated more warmly than we have at Ahment Efendi. And we are seasoned travellers. Mehdi and his wife are like second family to us now, so much so that we asked to stay again on our... more
