i only stayed for 3 nights and totally enjoyed my stay. i had the terrace room (which is a double room. i was travelling solo but was thinking if there are two persons in the room with lots of luggage they might think it's a small one) in the top floor and the view was amazing, you can see the... I think this hotel is best of best in Sultan Ahmet. Manager is very kind, friendly and helpful to our travel! Of course, this hotel's rooms are very clean and comfortable👍🏼 Also, breakfast was very good! If i'll go to the Turkey, i must stay at this hotel.

This was the second time I stayed at Ahmet Efendi Evi. I stayed there during a solo trip a couple of years ago. This time, I stayed as a couple with my wife. We got a room that was at the highest floor. More steps to climb to get to the room, but there was a little rooftop terrace with... More

The manager made us feel as if we had arrived home, and he was very helpful in advising us things to see and do in Istanbul and Turkey. The room was clean and comfortable, although the shower was small. Our buffet breakfast was great and always fresh and tasty.

The reviews of the place were good. not sure it is deserved of such praise. found it very average. the staff were pleasant and helpful. But that's about all I can say on the plus. The room's are tight and the showers are for midgets

it is located in the sultanahment area but in the best part in my opinion cause not in the main streets nor in a noisy part so you can enjoy the quietness even staying 5 minute walking to Ayia Sofia and Blue Mosque even if this will turn i a terrific sound in the nigth when it seems to have... A lovely small hotel in a residential area a short walk from the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia. We were a family of 5 fitted into one of their large rooms. It was tight, but absolutely fine and clean! Hotel were always helpful, in advise about where to go or what to do. Breakfast was simple, Turkish and... More

I may have written this in other reviews, but I have 10 years of experience in hotels in Canada and, when I check into a hotel, I tend to be hypercritical. In spite of this, I would have to say that Ahmet Efendi Evi is a perfect place to stay. When I checked in I felt as though I was... More

We just went here due to unexpected issues with our other booked hotel. The friendly staff did everything to help us, and was simply lovely. The room was nice and clean and have everything you need. I recommend it as it is probably one of the best in this price range.

Ideal for a few days in Istanbul. In a quit place but close to the hart of of the city. Book a room with view to the Blue Mosque; they have a touch of charm. But the best is the kindness you will find. They are really friendly.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
