This hotel is in the old city of Istanbul. It is within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions (Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern etc). As you expect it not the newest establishment but nonetheless a charming and reasonably well appointed hotel. The lift is a bit small and only takes 2 people with luggage at... More

I rate this place 0. After going through number of hotels, reviews and reading online about their great customer service, we chose Faros for our 4 night stay based majorly on the location, rooms pictures, service, and 4 star category (our most important aspect). We are a family of 3 - husband, wife and 20 month old son. First the... More

Horrible hotel ambience the rooms are not at all upto the mark of 4 Star Hotel as they claim, the staff is extremely rude and has no manners at all, they do not believe in helping at all and their favorite dialogue is " I DONT KNOW" and then ofcourse they have people like Mr. Husna who have the audacity... It is well located, close to all the major attractions and a tram stop nearby. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. However the rooms we stayed in were ready for an update, particularly the bathrooms. Breakfast was basic.

The only plus point this hotel has is a great location, right in the heart of sultanahmet; where you have hazia Sofia, blue mosque or sultanahmet mosque and the grand bazaar, spies bazaar literally at 10-15 minutes walking distance. Also, the city tram station is right opposite to the hotel which makes travelling to other parts of Istanbul quite easy... More

The great location of this boutique hotel is absolutely idea with the tram at the door and so close to the heart of where a visitor wants to be with walking to far be it shopping or visiting the sights. The restaurant is adequate and generally full, rooms are compact, most with balconies to view the action of the street... More

This hotel is in an excellent location in the Sultanahmet district in central Istanbul. A short walk to a choice of 2 train stations. Walking to all major attractions and a huge number of restaurants to choose from. BUT the only rooms that have balcony with floor to ceiling windows and door are in the 4th Floor at the front... I was there in February 2012. The hotel is in a good location - best places in the city just few steps from here. The room design was also not so bad. These were the good things, now the bad ones: - breakfast was poor. On Saturday they were late with serving it! - in the room, instead of heating,... More

Our 5 day stay was terrific. The staff is very helpful. We had a regular third floor room which was clean and spacious and they gave us a large bottle of water each day. Breakfast was delicious-lots of fresh fruit, and we ate several dinners outside at the hotel's restaurant. Food was great and had a big selection. This hotel... More

This was a great hotel to stay in, especially for first time visitors to Istanbul. You are walking distance from everything - the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, etc. There is a tram stop right outside of the hotel and it is easy to get to from the airport and accessible to all other parts of the city....
