The hotel is located only a few hundred metres from Haghia Sophia, just down the hill. It's a really good hotel, we had a nice room, nice and warm (it was late December). Lovely views of the sea from top terrace at breakfast. Breakfast buffet was very good. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It's location makes it very... More

The place is great for the price we paid. It'seems not the Holton so if you want newly refurbished or a lift go somewhere else. It has free breakfast, the room was clean and, the view from the room and breakfast lounge were great. Location is amazing for seeing all of the tourist destinations with no need for taxis. All... This was a great hotel a five minute walk from Blue Mosque,Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Archaeology Museum and just two minutes from Topkapi Palace. The tram is just 5 minutes to travel to a lot of Istanbul. The hotel is quite, very clean rooms with linen change every day. A very good breakfast with fantastic views of the Bosporus from... More

The hotel as such is OK in most ways, though not really outstanding in any. Most staff speak some English, the view is good. Though what made it for me was the room (room 402) that they claimed was a double deluxe room (I double checked with the reception on the first morning), the room was incredibly small, even too... Fantastic location, friendly, accommodating staff, clean rooms, fine breakfast - Turkish style, lovely view of Bosphorus Sea and city beyond from balcony of restaurant. Easy walk to entrance to Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc. Archeological museum inside grounds of Topkapi Palace is phenomenal! We speak no Turkish, used English; however staff speaks a variety of languages and were... More

If you are reasonably fit and can navigate the winding staircase to the roof for breakfast, then this a good place to stay while taking in the Topkapi Palace, the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque--all within walking distance. The room was small, the hot water wasn't always hot early in the morning, just warm, and the breakfast was quite... More

We stayed here during our travels through out Turkey and it's view and location have so far been the best by far! its location is incredible, within walking distancetp restaurants, (a few metres and you're on a busy street of wall to wall turkish food experiences) shops and all the major heritage sights, Hagia sofia, blue mosque and bascillica cistern... This little hotel is in a fantastic location within the heart of the Sultanhamet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean with air con. The view from the roof terrace is fabulous, and the sounds of the calling from the 3 mosques is wonderful. There are many restaurants within walking distance. We managed to see all... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
