If you have a limited amount of time and want to see a lot it's an ideal choice. I spent in Stambul just one day but because of the perfect hotel's location I was able to see the most important landmarks and sights of Istanbul. Just wonderful place to pick if you plan a short stay. Beware it gets a... More

We stayed in the hotel in June in the triple bedroom for two nights. The location is ideal for visiting the sights of Istanbul and it is very close to a road full of restaurants and cafes. The accommodation itself is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful and offered to book our excursions for us... More

We stayed for 4 days at the Megara Boutique Hotel. When we decided to stay in Istanbul longer, no room at the Boutique, so we were "bumped" to the Palace. The lift made the Boutique easier, as we had been travelling for some time and had the usual big case. Both were pleasant to stay in and both had wonderful... More

This hotel is not for those with heavy cumbersome bags, frail or unsteady gaits or scared of stairs. There is no elevator & breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace. We were fortunate to be allocated a 'family' room which gave us additional space to store ourlluggage. Without this extra space, we would have been extremely cramped. The room was... More

What a lovely time we had in this location in Istanbul, so near the Blue Mosque, Palace and the old city wall is right outside the window and good and safe to walk around. My husband liked the 15th century mosque across the road and they welcomed him! Megara is friendly, clean and well located, great value for money and... More

A nice little hotel located very close to hagia sophia, blue mosque, and topkapi palace in sultanahmet. Decent rooms and very safe for those travelling solo. The hotel has a cute restaurant on the rooftop and an interesting art shop. Very friendly staff aS well. Standard rooms are relatively small but suffice if you are travelling alone. I do recommend... Hotel is located right in Sultanhmet, a five minute walk from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace. My bedroom itself was small but I didn't care because I only went in there to sleep at the end of the day. Also they had good breakfast and the reception was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed there for a weekend. I was fully satisfied. Localtion is just the best - it is in a 5 minute walk from Topkapi and other places. Also hotel is located on a street with lots of restraunts. About the hotel - it is not super new, old fashion may be, but clean. It has it's own style. The were... More

I had six night at Megara and can only praise this small hotel which offers delightful personal service. We stayed in a three-bed room which was neat and comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was very small with just a shower and toilet but it was clean and fine for our purposes. It's location is incredible and really is easy walking... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
