The hostel itself is a little run-down but they clean it thoroughly daily. Staff are so friendly and helpful, they really make the stay enjoyable, especially for a solo traveler like me. I stayed in the 21 bed dorm, which always has the doors open so you often see stray cats coming in and out which is both equally entertaining... More

Excellent location, great view from the terrace, kind staff. The cheapest room has 21 beds, 2 showers, and no lockers. The rooms door remains open all the time. But for the Price and location, great deal.

Staff from Istanbul hostel gave me the right tips and made my trip to Gallipoli Troy Pammukale Selcuk and Capadocia sooo much cheaper. Highly recommended. Breakkie... More

We weren't sure if we should stay in the historic district or in the more modern part of Turkey, but the historic was definitely the best choice! We loved being only a minute's walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophie, the Basilica Cistern, and more. The hostel itself had great service and advice from the front desk, and was quite... More

Rooms are nice enough, but the bathroom was rather bad. The location is great. There is no real hostel feeling to this place though. I don't think this is a good hostel if you're travelling alone. Value for money is not good enough.

We really enjoyed our stay at the IH thanks to its central location and the excellent service; The owners realldo everything they can to make your stay comfy! Further, we particulary liked the breakfast and the view from the restaurant at the top floor...

I stayed for 4 nights in the massive 21-bed dungeon. The good: -Terrace view of Marmara sea -Literally next to Blue Mosque, Topkapi and Aya Sophia -Wifi OK -Bed/Linen is clean -Staff is knowledgeable and can book taxi/bus to airport for you The bad: -Shower is very basic, just a hose, and not completed sealed so not so much privacy.... This hostel is in a excellent location. We stayed here one night. The service was very good. The restaurant at top had a pretty good view of the Haya Sophia. But if you want to enjoy a nice dinner at a nice restaurant go to the Seven Hill hotel restaurant - They have the BEST view of the blue mosque... More

Istanbul Hostel offers very good accommodation at low prices. It is at 3 minutes walking distance from Sultanahmet square, near AyaSofya, Topkapi, The Blue Mosque and Cisterns Basilica. Siva Cafe is just round the corner! That's my favorite restaurant in Istanbul : great food, small prices, humus, baklava, turkish tea and coffee on the house! No extra tip added by... More
