The rooms were beautiful and the service very courteous and full of smiles. It was lovely to have a quiet place to come home to. Complimentary afternoon tea in the garden was always a highlight. Bottled water is provided in the rooms as well as a plethora of towels.

We staid at this hotel to times (4 nights) within 14 days. First we had two rooms at the topfloor in the main building. Our family consist of parents and three children - 5 persons and it is very rare that we can book a room for all of us or two rooms at a resonable price. We managed to... More

Positive: very helpful staff (special thank you to Deniz!), perfect location, stylish rooms, a lot of branded aminities, fresh tasty omelettes Negative: room 202 need maintenance (poor soundproof of windows and walls (you can hear all sounds made by your neighborhoods) + bad WIFI signal

This quaint hotel was the perfect place to visit Istanbul, located walking distance from the Blue Mosque and in a relative quiet part of the busy area. The staff were congenial and very accommodating, giving me an free upgrade to a bigger room despite an early check-in. The breakfast buffet was amazing with a wide offering of Turkish and Western... My wife and I stayed for six nights at the 'Garden House Hotel' between the 13th and 20th July. We had a fantastic time not only in Istanbul but also in the hotel itself. It is centrally located within easy walking distance of all the major sights and attractions. We had an economy room overlooking the patio restaurant area. The... More

Great location, excellent service, polite and very helpful staff, quaint, clean, large rooms with ethnic decor that give you a taste of Turkish culture, as does the food. The afternoon tea in the garden/couryard was very enjoyable.

My wife and I wanted a break which both gave us the opportunity to explore the vibrant city, but also allowed us to relax and unwind: seemingly incompatible aims, perhaps, but the garden house fulfilled all our needs. Situated a few minutes walk from the heart of the city, it was nonetheless a haven of quiet. We had a superior... More

The Garden House exceeded all our expectations in every way. Located in a delightful side street off of Sultanahmet square, The Garden House was an ideal place for relaxation and recharge after long days exploring Istanbul. Clean and charming with an exquisite courtyard, we will most certainly stay here again the next time we find ourselves in Istanbul. Thanks, y'all!

A great little hotel, with comfy rooms, good food and excellent service. It organises great guided tours but would be even better if it did more to help independent tourists, like selling museum passes and passing on local knowledge to save its guests time.

Great beds, great sheets, great breakfasts, great location! The best part was our breakfast hostess Deniz whose demeanor and wisdom made every morning an adventure. We booked activities through the desk which were first rate, especially the turkish baths!!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
