The Stone hotel is an interesting mix. Good things - reasonable breakfast, open air courtyard for breakfast, large room, roof top terrace with good views, very friendly and knowledgable staff, very good position, very good value. Not so good things - rooms a little run down, a glass window into the toilet area, jacuzi in the middle of the room... more

We have just returned from a five-night stay at the Stone Hotel, a gem of a hotel situated in the old quarter and a wonderful haven from the hustle and bustle of the bazaars and city life. The hotel's charming and atmopsheric courtyard garden was so welcoming after a day's sightseeing. Selim and his fellow staff were very friendly and... more

Certainly no problems with overbooking for me. I arrived (very tired) just before midnight and was immediately checked in by friendly, helpful staff. The room was average size, but well furnished, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very modern and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended. The location is great (very close to the Blue Mosque), but older or disabled travellers should... more

stayed here for 3 days. the front desk staff were helpful and checked us in really quickly. the room was small but clean and the bathroom was good sized as well. the stone garden cafe was nice, though the breakfast was really terrible. except for the breakfast, the hotel experience was very good. would stay here again. more

Travelled to Istanbul bet Sat 24 - Tue 27 May 2008 with friends. Just 2 couples needing 2 rooms for 3 nights. Booked the hol on 2 1/2 months in advance yet on arrival the hotel was overbooked. They only had one room for us and when we asked the receptionist for an explanation for the overbooking he couldn't explain... more

We stayed at the Stone Hotel with our toddler for four days at the beginning of May 2008. After the initial meet and greet we were informed that they had (as usual!) overbooked and that we would have to stay at one of the other hotels for one night. Luckily they put us in the hotel next door (Ada Hotel)... more

Small boutique hotel in a very convenient location. Rooms are ok- nothing special, but clean and bright. Beautiful courtyard for breakfast if weather is OK, otherwise breakfast room is a little tacky, in a cave like room- interesting and you know that you are in Turkey. Very nice turkish breakfast. Staff were helpful. Beds were quite firm. Make sure you... more

my mother and i stayed at this hotel this past april 2008 and we both enjoyed the hotel. the location was perfect. It is within walking distance to the blue mosque, the haghia sophia, topkapi palace, and most of all, the grand bazaar. for those who enjoy shopping (and who doesn't), this would be the hotel for you. the staff... more

I would like to warn anyone staying at this hotel that books it from the internet. We arrived at the hotel after midnight on a Friday night and was told that the hotel had overbooked by 15 rooms. They then took us to a hotel that was drastically inferior. The rooms were half the size and were not completed. There... more

Just came back from four great nights at the Stone hotel Istanbul. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble - booking restaurants, money exchange, directions. The rooms are modern if a little dark depending on which omne you get. Although the hotel is situated on a quite street, which is close to all the main attractions,... more
