Stayed at Mevlana in November; though the price i got this hotel was great, I was disappointed with the Hotel. Pros: Location: Absolutely perfect; close to Sultanahmet Mosque/Hagia Sophia etc. This is pretty much the best selling point of this hotel. Hotel staff are friendly. View for breakfast is amazing. Its a great way to get the day started. Cons:... More

Travelled to Istanbul with Atlas/Global airline from Luton, which turned out to be excellent value. It included a meal on the flight. Stayed at the Mevlana Boutique hotel in Sultanahamet. We booked an economy room - which was small, but had everything you would expect, daily cleaning and changing of sheets, good clean bathroom/shower and very friendly staff. Small point,... More

And to be honest you don't even need an alarm clock here, as our room 204 was upstairs right next door to the lift/elevator and the human traffic started at around 06.00, including the ignorant door slamming from other "Guests" right through the morning as this was the way up to the little restaurant above. Having said that, this hotel... More

Stay 2 nights at rhis hotel. I got room at the restuarant floor. the room small but comfortable and nice supplies of amenities. The house keeping was good. The breakfast has good varieties and you can enjoy the view while eating. the location just few walks to Hagia sophia. The staff on night shift (Oct17-19) was very good help. He... More

Checked in to Mevlana for 4 nights last week with a friend. Location - great, literally 4-5 minute walk to the Blue Mosque. The tram line is just outside the mosque. Lots of shops near the tram line. Booked an economy room and that's what we got - an economy room! It was small but that's what I paid for.... More

Amazing location, and incredibly helpful staff. Emre was welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. Really appreciated the stay we had here, and we'll be back soon, inshaAllah (God-Willing)! Rooms were comfortable, and clean. The tramway stop is a close walk, which gives you easy access to Istanbul and the major attractions.

We had a great time in Istanbul and this hotel was in a super location in the old Part of town, literally down the road from the Blue Mosque and Hagai Sofia, perfect to explore the local sights and loads of restaurants. It's a pricey area so be prepared to spend a bit more on food and accommodation here. The... More

Room was spacious and clean and although it looked onto a courtyard, it was quiet. Walking distance to main attractions and lots of restaurants. Close to tram stop and 15 minutes ride to the Grand Bazaar.

I stayed here alone for two nights, unfortunately the room was in the basement and the noise from outside and toilet ( water was somehow always running) annoyed me a lot. However, there was one more thing annoyed me the most was the reception guy's call . He called at 11PM to my room phone and suddenly said "come to... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
