We recently stayed for four nights in Mevlana Hotel, and simply we really had a fantastic experience. Elegant, comfortable, clean, fair size room, with clean bathroom, apparently owners are taking care after this hotel. The staff was so kind and efficient to anticipate our needs and wishes, with accurate recommendation and even went the extra mile to satisfy our stay.... More

We stayed four nights in April, 2012 at Mevlana. With tulip everywhere, it was a great time to visit Istanbul. The staff at Mevlana, particularly Enise, was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are small but very clean and cosy. The location of the hotel is perfect, right down the street from many shops, restaurants and major... More

We stayed between the 6th and 10th April and this hotel is fantastic. We arrived at 6am on the 6th after arriving by coach at Sirkeci. The staff understood that we were tired and in need of a shower after a 3.5 day train journey and even though we were VERY early found us a room by 7.30am. The hotel... More

The three things that are major plusses in favor of this hotel are its location, its breakfast buffet, and the friendliness of its staff. It felt a bit like a home away from home. I stayed at three hotels while in Turkey. The staff of this hotel stuck me as the friendliest of all of the three. They even taught... More

I’ve just returned from an 8-night stay at the Mevlana Hotel in Istanbul (Old City). Just about everything that can be said about this delightful little hotel has already been said: great location, friendly staff, attention to cleanliness, and delicious breakfasts. The hotel seems to have undergone new management since the last time I was there, but the staff are... More

We stayed for second time at this hotel. We choose it again for the perfect (for us) location - near most attractions and the tram - and the good price. Breakfast was improved from the last time we stayed there. Personnel remains friendly and helpful. Rooms are a little small, but for the price we payed it's not an issue More

As a couple staying for 9 nights I was concerned by the size of the room allocated on the first night - very very small. We were However offered a change of room the following morning by the staff without us asking. The room was larger but as many rooms in sultanahmet still on the small side. For what we... More

Mevlana is an excellent value hotel with a nice atmosphere, good breakfast and friendly staff. The drawback is rather thin walls which do not close out noice from the nearby railway etc. But if you can live with that it is a very nice and hospitable hotel to stay in. More

Main advantages: very good location, in the heart of Old Sulthanahmet, but rather quiet. Within walking distance to Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet on rooftop terrace with great views over Bosphorus. Good value for money (at booking.com). Highly recommended. More
