Bahaus Hostel was probably the best part of my Istanbul experience. It has a superb location: many major tourist attractions like the Blue Mosque, Arasta Bazaar, etc are just around the corner; the rooftop terrace offers a beautiful view overlooking the Marmara Sea. The facilities are good - free breakfast, free wifi (I was able to comfortably video chat), good... More

I already have been a night in this hostel last January... And having organized a last minute trip to Turkey I didn't hesitate when I had to choose the accommodation for my stay in Istanbul. This hostel is easily reachable by metro/tram from ataturk airport, the rooms are nice and more spacious than in many other places I've been to... More

I had an excellent stay at this fun and social hostel for about 11 days. All the other guests I met here had a great experience too. This was a particularly good place for solo travellers, as it was really easy to meet people and make friends. The owner and the staff were lovely hosts who were there to help,... More

This was my last stop on a 4-month trip and this was one of my favorite hostel experiences. Since it was off-season it was pretty empty, but the people that were there were mainly solo world travelers and we really had a chance to get to know each other (staff too) because there were less of us. Actually decided I... More

My first visit as a solo traveller was to Istanbul.. and of course i was nervous. But Bahaus was a great option to choose if you are travelling solo or even better if with a group of friends. I was given a free map and explained the routes and given helpful advice about shopping and currency exchange. Free wifi ,... More

I cannot say enough great things about this hostel. The rooftop terrace is good fun and a great place to meet people, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is the best! Make sure you go in the boat trip if you go during the right season. I was so sad to leave and I miss my Bahaus... More

Bahaus was a perfect place for me on my first solo trip to Istanbul. There was never a lack of a chance to socialize and the roof top bar provided a safe and great place to meet people every evening, while overlooking amazing views of the Sea of Maramara and the Bosphorus. The hostel is great at organizing activities throughout... More

I actually stayed at this place twice on my 3 week visit to turkey. Once in the beginning, and then again at the end. The first time we stayed in one of the private rooms. I thought it was a good value. Then the second time I stayed in a dorm, and that was good too. It's definitely the place... More

It's a hostel so obviously you have to expect some noise. Friendly staff, great guest, clean room, great great location! Nice activities (Turkish bath is a must do!!!). Free breakfast with a very nice view.

Bahaus is such a great place to stay! I stayed in a 14 person mixed dorm and I had a blast. The rooms are nice and spacious, the bathrooms are nice and clean, and it never runs out of hot water. It is located a stones throw from the ocean side, and the majority of tourist sights. But what really... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
