Great little hotel in the most perfect spot. If you are only in Istanbul for a couple of days and want to see the top attractions, stay here and don't waste your time dealing with the insane traffic of Istanbul. You can walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar is only an additional 10... More

My husband and I stay at the Almina Hotel in May 2015. Comfortable hotel. Typical Turkish breakfast. Clean linen. Neat rooms. Near main attractions. Staff was very friendly but could not cope with the volume of guests. We book a room on the first floor but could only get one facing the street.

upon first arriving at 5 am we were concerned that it wasn't in a great area as lots of graffiti and closed up buildings in the block around it, but once we'd explored a bit we realised it was fine. Easy walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. View of Blue Mosque from roof top terrace (they... More

We stayed here three nights. For some reason the prices posted at the front desk were for $150 Euros, but we paid $50, booking online. The first night we stayed downstairs on the "garden" level, and the room smelled a little musty (like pickles, actually), and we moved upstairs after than and the room was really nice. Breakfast was also... More

We are a family of four and we stayed at the Almina Hotel just one night while in transit from Venice to San Francisco via Turkish Airlines on July 10, 2015. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The woman at the front desk, Fara, and a young man on staff when we arrived were very helpful, friendly, and professional. While... More

If you would like to have a unforgetable holiday in Istambul, this hotel is a perfect place for you, in terms of location and comfort. The main historical places and city sides are located in 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. At the same time the hotel area is very quiet and good for rest. Our room was big and... More

If you compare this hotel with other hotel in this district you will sure that it's more comfortable and not expensive hotel, and location is convenient for walking to the basic museums in Istanbul like Hagia Sophia, carpet museum, Topkapi palace and Blue Mosgue.👍

Good location, helpful staff. The first room had noise issues at night and they changed us immediately. We stayed 3 extra nights and they gave us the room at the cheaper rate that we had arranged through Booking.com. Altogether a good experience.

We were travelling with two kids (two adults and two kids, 7 and 4 y/o). We were given room on the second floor. It was actually suite with two queen sized beds in separate rooms. Large sized balcony overlooking the sea. The windows from the other side showed minareds of the Blue Mosque. All in all I think the room,... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
