We arrived in Istanbul via Ataturk airport. Taxi was 50TL and it takes about 30 minutes. Our room was slightly larger than I had expected for a city. It included a small en suite with a shower cubical, a double and single bed (comfortable), kettle, small fridge, safe and free wi-fi. The Aircon was a little noisy but effective; we... More

We did enjoy our 4 nights stay at Almina Hotel... The Location is great, nearby museums, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace... Very friendly staff...the Room was really nice and very clean. The breakfast is very good and generous, served on the terrace which has a very nice view. We loved the hotel and will sure come back! I booked Almina Hotel on Booking.com 1.5 hours before I checked in. As soon as I arrived, my family and I were put into two horrible rooms in what looked like the basement the building next door to the main building of the hotel. One room had wet carpets and a muggy smell. It seemed like the carpet just shampooed... More

It is a small hotel with extremely nice and helpful staff. It's placed in a fantastic location, 5 min walk to Blue Mosque yet far enough to escape enormous crowds of tourists. Breakfast is served in a sunroom on top of the hotel with great views. Nice way of starting a day. Alumina is pleasant and comfortable. Highly Recommended.

While there are many hotels in the Old City, Almina Hotel is tucked away in a side street which afforded a sense of quietness amidst the bustle of the busier areas. Ideally located near the Blue Mosque, and just a little further away Hagia Sopia, the Grand Bazaar, ect. All definitely within walking distance. We were offered apple tea when... More

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect. We were very impressed with the hotel staff, especially Umet, who helped guide us and recommend things to do in the area. The hotel is the perfect location, walkable to all the major attractions and just a short tram ride (we chose to walk) to the Grand... More

Even thought the first look was not impressive, I started to like it as the time ellipses. Finally, I would like to say thanks to staff and the manager who was nice and welcoming. In addition, it was really close to sultan Ahmet and other sites which saves me a lot of time and provides me good times.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
