Great, clean and well situated hotel. The breakfast are amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a bit noisy at night - nothing earplugs couldn't fix as well as the late and early morning prayers. A very nice stay and would recommend it.

I have been at Peninsula Hotel Istambul Sultanhamdt for a week in August 2015. The hotel is very well located at few minutes walking from the Blue Mosque, Agia Sophia and Topkapi. The room was quiet and big with air conditionning. The breakfast on the terrace was hearthy and The room cleaning was well done every day. The staff of... More

A staff that will do anything to help and always in a warm and friendly manner. Ask about tours and sights to see. They can arrange them for you. Located in the Saltanahmet area close to historic sights. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is outstanding, offering a huge variety of local food choices. Home made baked goods are... More

We have stayed at the Peninsula Hotel many times in winter, spring and summer over the last several years, most recently in July, 2015, and will stay nowhere else in Istanbul. It’s perfectly located in Sultanahmet, but a few doors down a side street off the main street so it’s quiet. One of the nicest features of this location is... More

Right in the absolute heart of the Byzantine section of historic Istanbul is this quiet, clean hotel. It was such a welcome oasis in the craziness. Breakfast every morning on the terrace served by sweet, doting Fatima. Loved it! We booked online and had no problems. The desk attendant was very helpful when our transportation to the airport never showed... More

I only give this place a 4 as there is really nothing special to mention about it. Besides that, I was just looking for a simple, quiet and clean place to stay. And I found it! Just a few minutes walking from the historical hotspots of Sultanamet (and just as far from the Bosporus at the other side) this 12-rooms... More

I arrived at some ungodly hour and the poor driver had been waiting for close to 2 hours (immigration took forever). When I arrived at the hotel the desk-manager had my room ready and said I should catch some sleep, the formalities would follow in the morning. I had a room in te basement, there was a small patio and... More

I stayed in this lovely hotel at the beginning june 2015. A friend of mine recommended it for me as he often visits turkey, istanbul, and sleeps at that hotel everytime he does not sleep over at relatives. I really need to thank him for that. First of all, the hotel looks very nice. It is clean, it its tidy... More

Excellent location close to site and transportation. Staff went above and beyond to assist us and gave a good insight regarding culture, history and present situation in Turkey quite enlightening. Hotel located in a cull the sac thus no car noise.I will not add anything regarding praying because you will hear it all over Istanbul, thus have to live with... More

I stayed in hotel for 3 days with my family and had a good stay. Staff friendly especially Fatima (if I am mistaken) who served breakfast in terrace, she is so lovely @ caring. I found room small for family and luggage storage, metallic decoration over the bed looks bad @ scary as if it may fall down. I booked... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
