We arrived at Asur hotel on 4th July to be greeted on the lobby of the hotel next door by Asur staff. At this point we believed we were in the Asur lobby & paid out booking. We were told the hotel was undergoing renovations (3 first of 3 excuses given to us) and we had been placed at a... More

If you look for quite cheap and yet comfortable - that's what it is. Located in the very center of European part (Gulhane tramstop - 3 minutes) but in a quieter place, the hotel gives you the perfect place to stay with walking distance to the main sights: Hagia Sophia and Gulhane park - 5 minutes. And from there 5... More

My friend had picked this place for our duo trip to Istanbul. Excellent hotel location: all main historical sightseeing places are nearby and they can be visited any time on foot. Friendly and warm personnel. We got a very good offer from booking.com and we were glad with a room we received for the price. A/C is very good and... More

You couldn't be better located, with only a ten minute walk to the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and Hagya Sophya to one side, and the Bosphorous ferries to the other. But if you like to take your time in the hotel before heading out its maybe not for you. Yes it's clean, but it's also very basic. If however... More

The location is excellent, it is central to everything, with the Blue Mosque, New mosque and Hagia Sophia within 15 minutes of walk from the hotel. The manager tried to sell me different trips before I even checked into the hotel. The first time I was put in there in room, there were huge hotel cleaning stuff blocking the fire... More

This city is simply breathe taking and as the adverts say Istanbul is 1 big museum. And as far as Asur is concern it's smacked right where the European civilization starts and you can suck it all in within easy walking distance. The reception is fantastic and we loved Martine and his team. We checked in at 130am and he's... More

Fantastic location and lose to all the major landmarks (15 minute walk at most) Staff were really friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well in our room and the whole hotel was in a quiet area. Would definitely stay here again.

Asur Hotel has a fantastic location and is only 10-15 minutes walk from all the major landmarks. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was pretty good and had a broad range of options. There is free wifi though it isn't always reliable in the rooms, the lobby has pretty good service. I stayed at the hotel... I stayed at this hotel in May 2015 for 5 nights with my brother. It's a quiet and peaceful hotel with a great location. The price is normal comparing to other hotels. There is no luxury inside but if you need a warm and nice place to sleep that's the best choice. Our room had a TV, wardrobe, two beds,... More

We spent three nights at the Asur and although the staff were friendly and helpful the hotel was, frankly, a bit of a dive. Maybe we were booked through a bad agency but both ourselves and another couple were put into rooms where the window opened out onto a wall filled with trunking. The bed was uncomfortable: if one person... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
