I stayed there in Sept 2014. The Asur Hotel is located in Sirkeci area, which is very near to the main attractions in Sultanamelt district. One can conveniently go to other areas as well as the Attaturk Airport via the Tram (& connection to Metro). The area around are full of other hotels, restaurants and also small shops for drinks,... We were a family group (9 of us) and stayed during early Sept. The hotel was very accommodating and were able to get all our rooms on the same floor – plus point! Breakfast buffet was surprisingly good with a good range/selection of pastries, bread, cereal etc. Location was amazing (which the hotel gets top marks for), we were in... More

We came back to Asur for one night stop, traveling by car from Antalya to Bucharest. Again, excelent choise, nice and friendly hotel, in the heart of Fatih and so close to Sultanahmet and Galata Bridge. Carefully stuff, nice clean room, very good breakfast. This time was noisy în the morning, as they were demoloshing a building nearby, very close.... More

We spent four nights here and were impressed with how helpful the staff were - both before and during our stay. They organised transfers and gave us help and advice whenever we needed it. The location was superb - within a short walking distance of most of the main 'places to visit' and the Grand Bazaar. There were lots of... More

Its a nice clean and functional hotel, located beautifully next to the tramlines of Istanbul. The rooms are adequate, clean, quite and with a good sumptious breakfast.... A trifle repetitive, but still good and wholesome. Would definitely stay there again....l

Spent one week at the Asur Hotel in Sirkeci on a holiday trip to Istanbul. The hotel had been recommended to me by a Turkish friend and I have to say it was a great recommendation. I had one of the two rooms with a balcony (Junior Suite 5) and my traveling companion stayed in the adjacent junior suite. The... More

We stayed in Asur hotel for one week in a triple room which was clean. The sight was on the small street where there are plenty of restaurants and in front of the hotel there was an old building which seems to have been a restaurant. Our stay was really nice, no noise at night, and the air conditioning was... More

The hotel is rather old.The rooms were very basic, beds were comfortable. However, our main concern was that the bathrooms were constantly clogged and it is always uncomfortable to take a shower while there is a pool of water reaching above your ankles. I would say for the price we paid, we would have expected to have better facilities. This... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
