The location was excellent. You can walk to so many restaurants, the Grand Bazaar, free strong internet, terrific complimentary breakfast, terrific and helpful staff, and the dinner hosted by Gate1 Travel was excellent.

I was so happy to be in Istanbul when on the night of my arrival I stood on the front steps of the Grand Hotel Gulsoy and took a lovely photo of the mosque across the street. The call to prayer that could be heard regularly was a nice reminder that I was a guest in a different culture, and... More

Hotel is in a great position. Walk to the Grand Bazzaar. Close to the tram which is easy to use. Room was fine but the hotel is opposite a wonderful mosque which means you will be woken very early in the morning by the very loud call to prayer. Excellent indoor pool and a cute rooftop pool and bar with... More

On our tour, this was a first hotel and I m glad. Location was excellent for walking. Food was very good. This hotel is across the street from a large Mosque and 5 times a day we heard the call to prayer starting before the rooster, but still I liked it. IN the neighborhood are a number of good inexpensive restaurants.... More

I found the hotel staff very unfriendly and not very helpful . I called the reception to enquire about firm pillows and at first they did not understand what I was enquiring about but later understood what I meant and very rudely said they only have soft pillows .

Only stayed for 1 night, the only negative was the room was slightly on the small side. Although if you are staying in this part of Istanbul you probably aren’t going to spend much time in your room so this isn’t a major problem. There are plenty of things to do within walking distance if you want to venture away... More

Hotel is not bad, our room was a little small for 3 people. The indoor swimming pool was great but didnt like the fact that the guy keeping an eye on it kept walking about. Staff is not as friendly as i wouldve liked and so you tend to feel as if youre intruding everywhere. Breakfast is over far too... More

We stayed their for 3 nights during the April. The hotel is in the old town and is very closed to most major attractions, such as Grand Bazzar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Tokapi palace, Mosque of Suleyman, and spice market they are all within walking distance. For other site seeing places, such as Dolmabahçe Palace and Glata tower, you can... More

This is a nice option in the Old Istanbul area. The Hotel is located with in a walking distance to the subway and the Grand Bazaar. The rooms are nice and clean, the buffete for breakfast is average but is ok... The coffee shop at the lobby is great. Staff was friendly

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
