The Grand Hotel Gulsoy was perfectly located for visiting Istanbul. In the middle of town, it is not far from most of the sites you need to visit in Istanbul, the longest walk being 30mins for the Blue Mosque heading eastward. The hotel itself caters for most needs. It has a lovely swimming in the basement, dimly and soothingly lit... More

It is across the road from The Sehazade Mosque, and my room faced this Mosque as well looking out towards The Suleymaniye Mosque and the skyline of 'newer' Istanbul across The Golden Horn. I personally found the 'call to prayers' a soothing part of the rhythm of the day ! The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Istanbul; the Aquaduct... More

I used this hotel as part of a tour through Gate1 Travel. The hotel location is close to all the main attractions in Turkey. The subway station was within walk in distance. Istanbul is a city easy to navigate. Hotel is next to a mosque so the call of prayer was quite interesting. Management was great with an issue my... More

Had a one night stay here on the way to a cruise. This was booked through the trip company. The room is smallish but very nice. The reception is helpful and friendly. Booked a massage for hour and half later. Was able to pay to for it later. The location is good. Close to the grand bazaar. Just take the... More

What you see on the pictures is not what you get. If you think that the hamman is old and stylish as in the pictures, you are wrong!!! Nothing can be charged to the room. Everything is chash based. My no smoking room, smelled awfully.

Despite some initial teething difficulties with lack of response to e-mails and phone calls we very much enjoyed our stay here 4 Nights in a great bustling location and a 10 minute tram ride from the typical tourist spots.

We stayed in the Grand Hotel Gulsoy several days before and after a tour of Turkey. Pros: Comfortable, nice sized rooms with lots of windows and very adequate bathroom. Good service with very accommodating staff. Little café/patisserie next to the lobby. Near Valens Roman Aqueduct. Cons: location is west of all the main attractions and not really walkable. Tram station... More

The Gulsoy is very comfortable, well kept up, and handy to tram public transportation. The hotel has 2 pools, one on the roof and one inside in the spa area. Inside rooms are quiet and windows open into a small, but nicely maintained courtyard. Windows are double glass to minimize outside noise. The morning breakfast buffet is extensive and excellent....
