Stayed here for a total of five nights. This hotel is located perfectly. There are lots of cafes and restaurants close by, and just a short walking distance to Blue Mosque, Spice Market, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, grand bazaar etc. Rooms are very small and basic. The walls are thin and you can hear everything happening on the floor. The... More

The service was really nice, the hotel is quite nice as well as the view tha twe had in our room. Buffet was also quite good. They should consider about chaging the juice and the coffee, those two things we´re awful, but you have a lot of different types of sweets and salty things to eat.

While I think Golden Horn is more 3 stars than 4, we had a perfectly adequate stay. It's definitely a great location - walking distance to major sites like the Blue Mosque and 2 blocks from a tram stop to easily get to the other side of the Golden Horn. We had a smallish twin room that was clean and... More

This hotel is on a great location in the old Istanbul part of the city, easy walk to all the sites from here, the grand bazaar and mosques are very easy to access from here, the hotel is dated but nice, my room was very large and had a view overlooking the city but some friends had terrible rooms looking... we really loved the hotel location and the staff are very friendly especially to our kid: -happy hour from 3 to 5 is really great. we can enjoy our coffee and some turkish sweets for free. - they love children and try to entertain them. Miss Sabina was very nice and gave kids some papers and crayons also they fed... More

You get what you pay for mostly. It's not a luxury hotel but in a good location and great service. My luggage was lost on my flight and the hotel staff were so helpful and assisted me in dealing with the airport and speaking Turkish to staff at the airport. Was very impressed with the level of service provided.

For the price you really can't complain. The room was clean, the air-conditioning worked well and the location is terrific. Plus the staff were incredibly attentive. The room isn't huge and breakfast is pretty basic but if you are after a decent place to sleep in a great location I would definitely recommend it.

Very small room with even smaller window (you can't even call it window). As previously commented, bathroom was made for kids aged 6 and below. Mould in the shower and room was very noisy coming from loud conversations in front of the room of house keeping staff starting at 6 in the morning! Booked a two bedroom for TWO person,... More

The bedrooms are beautifully decorated but small. Bathrooms are OK but are showing a fair bit of age which is a negative. In its heh day, the hotel would have been very nice, it has a nice large lobby, but it is now a little tired. The Golden Horn though is centrally located in the old city, walking distance to... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
