We'd stayed two previous times in a neighboring property and liked it, but decided to try the Golden Horn this year. It is centrally located, within easy walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazaar, and the Galata Bridge and ferries at Eminonu. The rooms were small but adequate and very ornately decorated (as indeed is the entire... More

While I was in business visiting in Istanbul, I used the Golden Horn Hotel, It has a great location to move to Old city of Istanbul and go to Taksim square by Metro it is so close to public transportation, at the the hotel every one is kindly, friendly, and trying to help for all your needs. Recommend this hotel.

We had 4 days in Turkey and these were great days after our active trip in Europe. First my sister visited this hotel and she adviced to choose this hotel and Im happy that we did this choice. Everything was nice in the hotel, starting from eastern design of interior, convenient location to reach important sightseeings, nice breakfast, view from... More

I used to an other hotel in the past years, but its quality changed dramatically, so I was forced to changed the Hotel in this year. The choice was very good. This hotel was choosen by internet. Unfortunately I had two unpleasant experiences: a taxi driver cheated me, and the official change office sold me faked 100TL banknote. The Hotel... More

It was our first stay in Istanbul and after reading positive reviews of this hotel I've been expecting much more. Although the location is very good, the room was smaller than an average cabin on a cruise ship. No complains, although size matters BUT the smell of the bathroom was terrible. We had to keep the window open or the... More

We stayed at the Golden Horn for several days in March of 14. One of our party became very ill. The chef over the hotel restaurant helped us to find an open pharmacy on a Sunday in Istanbul. He was very kind and helpful as well as being an excellent chef who oversaw lovely meals in the dining room. This... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
