Τhe hotel and the rooms were pretty good. The location of the hotel was perfect because it is very close to many sightseeing places. As far as the cleanliness was also excellent . We enjoyed the breakfast with this nice view to Vosporus sea, we recomend a little bit more variety to the sweet breakfast, but still it was great!... More

I was 5 days here with my parents in a family room at the third floor. The room is nice and quiet, The stuff of the hotel is very helpful and friendly, both at the desk and while breakfast and especially Kerem. The hotel has a little morbid charme, the quarter is very quiet and nice with lots of good... More

Is low star budget hotel, but the place is close to Blue mosque. The room is ok. Not expecting much since the price. But it is clean and reception give good service. Breakfast not that great but there eggs and jam and bread enough to start the day. The area full of restuarant there even Korean restuarant nearby which serve... More

The Sumengen is on a cobblestone street in the midst of a picturesque area of hotels, restaurants, and little shops. It is just stepsA away from the three of the BIG tourist sites of the city: the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace. The staff is exceedingly helpful and friendly. The breakfast room has wide, sweeping views of the... More

Great location for sight seeing; really friendly and helpful staff gave excellent recommendations for restaurants. Room clean; plenty of hot water; fresh towels; tea & coffee facilities; WiFi. Breakfast plentiful good basic fair, tea, coffee and cakes available until 5pm in the lobby. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff.

Pleasant low-key hotel, great location in old city in walking distance to old city sites and tram to go to other neighborhoods. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Did not have that impersonal, cold feeling of larger hotels. Modest clean room and good breakfast, helpful staff, afternoon tea. Great 360 degree rooftop view of Sea of Marmora, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque.

the location is amazing. the room was very good, as the tv was not working in our first room they move us to a fantastic suite! we had breakfast in the balcony facing the Bosphorus... perfect way to start a day in Istanbul. the only negative point is really the lack of variety on the breakfast.

I stayed here with my family for three nights during Easter. The hotel is in a fabulous location in the old quarter. The staff are great staff, with one particular one being extremely helpful (name unknown) especially in helping book tickets for popular sites. The rooms are very clean, and nicely furnished, however we discovered the walls were paper-thin and could hear everything from our neighbours, from showers and flushing toilets,... More
