We went as a group of three in March 2015 on a leisure trip and really enjoyed the location of the hotel right in the historic centre of Istanbul, the clean, pretty room (although room 401 is right beneath the breakfast room and can get a bit noisy in the mornings), the breakfast buffet, late check-out til 12 lunchtime, and... Sumengen hotel is in an ideal location for visiting the sights of istanbul. Staff are very helpful and hotel is very clean and rooms are an adequate size. Breakfast was of a decent standard with plenty of different choices of food hot and cold. Hotel is 5 mins walk from sultanahmet tram stop and easy to get to using public... More

We just had a wonderful five night stay at the Hotel Sumengen in a large seaview room with spa. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, well maintained, clean and spacious room with everything you could hope for. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with great variety and amazing view over the Mediterranean Sea overlooking the rooftops of the old city.... More

Firet of all i need to say that the staff are very polite and professional. Although the hotel is old but it's really very near, clean and having good amenities. We enjoyed our complementary breakfast and the evening tea time with some delicious cakes. The rooms were clean, tidy and specious. Finally, i need to say that the hotel all... More

The hotel interior and rooms are on the good side of average. The staff is very helpful but the location is the reason you want to choose the Sumengen. It's a few feet from the Arasta Bazaar. A five minute walk to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Five minutes to the Ala Turca Cooking school (which I highly recommend).... More

This hotel was great, everything in here was perfect, beginning from the staff that was very friendly and correct, the position it has, the view, the rooms which were very nice and clean, the great food, tea and anything else. I'd like to visit it again, because it made my visit in istambull even more interesting and made me feel... More

This intimate and friendly hotel, a mere stone’s throw from Istanbul’s fabled Blue Mosque, offers priceless customer service and great comfort. Located right in the heart of Istanbul’s historic old city, Sumengen Hotel, is the perfect starting point for exploring this great metropolis. Sights within walking distance are too numerous to mention, and include architectural and historic wonders, beautiful parks,... More

First of all- great location (close to Blue Mosque, Ayasofya, not noisy, many nice, not expensive restaurants). And I`d like to say BIG thanks to administration and all stuff. I forgot my bag and they sent me it to Kiev even for free. Thank U. You made my trip beautiful!

Great location, cozy rooms and plenty of good restaurants and bars around. Would not hesitate to repeat if I go back to Istanbul. Breakfast was the weakest point, although still correct and with amazing views to Bosphorus
