Hotel Beyaz Saray is very conveniently located in the old city of Istanbul on the SultanAhmet square. It is just a 5 mins walk to Grand Bazaar and about 10 mins to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and other tourist attractions. Rooms although a little small are clean and provided with all the necessary amenities. It has a nice rooftop restaurant... More

My family - wife, son and self - stayed at Beyaz Saray on this trip. The service was impeccable, staff very courteous and helpful and the rooms comfortable. My son did not want to leave on the date of our check out. He felt so much at home. The hotel is located in the heart of old city and helped... More

I stayed at the Beyaz Saray Hotel in May 2015 and I would like to rate this one notch higher than most five star hotels that I have stayed across the world , simply because of the superb hospitality and attentive care of the hotel staff , in particular , Mr Turgut , the manager , who will do anything... We went to Istanbul in Summer 2013. We stayed at the Barcelo Saray. This hotel is not excessively large - in fact there is another Barcelo in Istanbul that is larger, better known, busier, etc. The Barcelo Saray was quiet, despite the fact that that it is stupendously well located in the very heart of Sultanahmet, the Old City. In... More

I stayed here very briefly in November 2012. My original plan to be in the city for several days needed to change abruptly, so my travel agent hastily arranged the Barcelo Saray for me. I appreciated the convenience of the quick walk to the Mosque and Topkapi and the Bazaar being right across the street. Unfortunately, my time was so... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
