The hotel staff at Barcelo Saray (Istanbul) were absolutely lovely and made a trip an unforgettable experience from the minute we arrived and the lat minute we left. I personally would like to mention the Hotel Manager and every single staff member made my wifes and little Hunayn's first trip a really really enjoyable one. I would kie to state... more

We stayed here for five nightss . we were given a small room with small bath room but persuaded the manager to change it a standard room after two nights. The recetion staff is friendly and helpful and they all spoke English. The hotel is virtually a block away from Grand Bazar and walking distance to the Blue Mosque and... more

We travelled in Istanbul for a city break in February 2007. The Hotel (also known as Beyaz Saray - I suppose is the name prior to Barcelo take-over) is very central, only 2 tram stops away from Ayia Sofia and the Blue Mosque, in Sultanahmet. Opposite the street is one of the entrances in the Great Bazaar and the Technic... more

It was our first visit to Turkey. I have stayed before in a Barcelo Hotel chain. The hotel is in a very good location for dining and shopping within walking distance. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is across a Mosque in Benyazit. The calls to prayer were not extremely loud. If you like to walk, the entrance to the... more

Staff very friendly and helpful. Do ask for a non-smoking room if necessary as our initial room reeked of smoke and also was a twin rather than a double.Reception quickly remedied this. Good location and definitely enjoyed our turkish massage with the friendly masseurs. Good buffet breakfast but evening meal (we arrived late in the evening) was not great. Do... more

Classic interntional contemporary hotel in the really historic center of the city. The position is perfect for tourists, in front of Grand Baazar and very close to Sultanahmet. Ok for its category and for prices, not *so much* cosy but always clean with kindly people. more

We picked this hotel based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. The location is only one block from the Grand Bazaar and within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Plus, it's on the tram way. The staff was exceptionally helpful and courteous. We had a budget priced room which was just fine, but not... more

Clean, modern hotel with good location. Easy access by walking and tram to the major tourist attractions. We had nice roomy room facing mosque, no problems with heat or air con. Breakfast was plentiful. The best part of staying here was the saunas (free for hotel guests). It was so nice to relax in the saunas after long day walking... more

My wife and I stayed at the Barcelo Saray Istanbul for a week in January 09. The position is excellent being close to the Grand Bazaar. The room was reasonable but the view was a dirty lane. The top floor restaurant is nice with a good view over the old part of the city. Beware of using the hotel to... more

This hotel was brilliant from the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out. I had booked with the hotel directly and as I had booked 3 nights I was availed the free transfer with the driver waiting for me outside the customs area once the fun immigration scrum was finished. Arriving early in the morning from Australia... more
