First thing first, whilst this hotel is located very close to taksim square it is actually in a dingy back residential street, apparently it is being rebuilt so a lot of run down building etc. So it is conveniently located but a bit of an unpleasant road. It did no feel very unsafe as people really kept to themselves and... More

The owner Serdar is a brilliant guy, and an amazing host. He will give you the best deal, and a great service. He also knows the best bars, restaurants and nightclubs around the area, ask him before you go! The rooms are great, and always kept clean. If there is a problem, the owners wil fix it right away. We stayed here for 4 nights and as previous reviews state this is not the most immediately welcoming area of Istanbul however the location is excellent for getting to Taksim square and close by to the metro to get to the main tourist locations. We stayed in a room on the ground floor which was a good size and nicely... More

I only stayed 1 night here and chose the place because of the location near to the Indian Consulate and easy access to the Istiklal Street. i have to say I was amazed at the standard for the price, really clean, very comfy beds, great hot water shower, everything you could need. They upgraded us to an apartment as the... More

The Residence is located in a street that doesn't look to be the most welcoming in Istanbul. Nevertheless, I didn't have a single problem during my 4 days stay there. People on that street actually helped me with my orientation questions. Location is very good, 3 mins from Taksim Square. Apartments are spotless, with air conditioning and are quite large.... More

Extremely well located, good apartments, exceptional service and great value. The area is being redeveloped, however it's a stone throw from Istiklal Street and wasn't an issue at all. Cheery staff always helpful to assist, a very pleasant stay.

Clean hotel with spacious rooms. 2 minutes walk to Taksim square. Close to all business locations by subway. 10 -12 minutes to historical peninsula by subway. Walking distance to shopping center and fine restaurants and clubs ( Istiklal street). Some road construction nearby however does not bother. it will make the area better the manager Onur explained. Service is excellent.... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
