I am a platinum Marriott member. So I stay at many Marriotts all over the world every year. This place says Renaissance on the building but the similarity with other Marriott managed properties stops there. I know. I have just spend EIGHT prepaid days here. If I had not prepaid I would have moved to another hotel. First, my key... More

All in all, it's a nice hotel to stay in. But not for tourists. As that it's abit far from attractions and not easy to hop on and off from public transportation into touristic attractions. the only nice thing you can have, is to get a Bosphorus view room, which will give you a nice view for this famous bridge... I travel internationally for work so have the opportunity to stay in many good hotels. I stayed at this Renaissance for two weeks while on business in Istanbul. This Renaissance is located up the hill from the beautiful Bosphorus. The views are stunning. The location is nice, about a 30 minute walk to the Bosphorus where you can get a... More

The staff is the biggest plus there. They are all very friendly and helpful.. View from top floor is incredible and not to be missed. I could have spent a whole day there. Since I like to walk, I found it easy to get to different and interesting destinations. I did find several small and local restaurants that were great... More

Stayed with my family of 7 in this beautiful hotel. one of our rooms got upgraded to a corner suite (maybe because we had a Plat status), The rooms were clean and well decorated but kinda small. The Wifi was free for us and it required every 24 hours a new pass code (you can get it at the front... More

This is a great hotel, effortless check in, very good breakfast, unreal views! We were upgraded to an executive room for free and without us asking. It was on the 15th floor and fabulous. There's a lot of reviews on here complaining about the location - ignore them. Yes it's the other side of the city to the old part... More

Enjoyed the stay entirely. Nice comfortable rooms and lovely food. Location is central to the city and views are awesome. Highly recommended to everyone travelling to Istanbul. Staff was very courteous and helpful too. Best part is that they provided very good Indian food (including the Jain food) along with the International and Turkish cuisine.

Very comfortable. Relatively new hotel. Not many restaurants close by, but bar and restaurant in hotel good. Views from the cocktail bar are excellent. Staff all very helpful. Not central, it taxis are cheap. Look out for unscrupulous taxi drivers. Take a photo of their licence plate in the car to avoid being ripped off.

Located in the residential area of Besiktas, far away almost all of Istanbuls attractions. There is no way to reach anywhere without using taxi. It served as a great location for our business meetings part. While still close enough to explore the city to do the sightseeing. A killing feature is the rooftop bar and restaurant on the sunset. Be sure you're back from your business meetings by then. And kudos to all the staff. Property is not perfect (get me right - it's... More

Staying in Besiktas

Neighborhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
