Everything is messed up in this hotel. Some of the staff there were rude and careless. Don't waste your vacation and money on this hotel. The only good thing is its location, otherwise it's a crappy place.

Absolute disgrace of a hotel. The booking was for a balcony terrace suite and on arrival sent to a dirty rear basement flat box room. As for customer service a mismanaged chaos as noone understood the requirements. Once a complaint was made, was made to wait an hour for the new room and after 5 hour travelling fell asleep in... The hotel name is currently the Albatros Hagia Sophia. I went on a cruise holiday which included a 3 day stay in Istanbul where I embarked the ship. This hotel has two sides, the "light and bright" side and the "dark and dusty" side. With my luck I was booked in the dark and dusty side. This side of the... More

Terrible hotel, staff is indifferent, reception a chaos, restaurant dirty, rooms unfinished, bathrooms ill conceived. There's nothing fine here. Breakfasts ok but there's not enough space, carpeting is always dirty, very noisy street.

Wyndham recently took over the Spanish TRYP chain, which has small to medium-sized hotels over all of Europe featuring a clean, modern look with functional and very well laid out rooms. The Istanbul location is no exception with very attentive service (above and beyond the call of duty, I might add) and very nice rooms with all of the amenities.... More

The rooms are well decorated and very clean. Not the largest of rooms but they do the job for 2 people. I had to change rooms (no big deal) so I was at one point in the front of the hotel and another time in the rear. They were both quiet. There are no late bars or music and very... More

We have stayed at this hotel by mistake, as our option was Albatros Premier, but our travel agency did the booking for Albatros Hagia Sophia. Somehow, I think are connected as we had room slippers with Albatros Premier and table runners on breakfast had it's name as well. The hotel name it was recently changed, maybe therefore the confusion. The... More

Major renovations to lobby and some floors made for noisy and dusty conditions throughout each day of our stay. Our hotel room was otherwise fine except for an absence of lighting over the bed area. Two very small red plastic shaded lamps with red bulbs by bed did nothing to address this oversight. The internet worked about half the time... More

I believe this hotel has had a name change recently, as it was called the Albatros Hagia Sophia when I stayed here in February. The staff were excellent, breakfast was a reasonable meal and the location was unbeatable. I had one problem, which is why this place didn't get a 5/5. I was originally staying on the 5th floor, and... More

We were slightly dubious upon arrival our hotel and flights were booked through a special deal and I did not hear back from the hotel when I emailed to confirm our reservation. The hotel is also not immediately obvious from the exterior as it has a signed called 'Albatross Hotel' outside and is also actually located next to the building... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
