This hotel is located at the heart of historic Istanbul. You can walk to the tram or ferry stations within few minutes. The hotel is very well decorated. You feel like you enter a different world as soon as you go through its doors. We had coffee and some delicious hand-made cookies fresh off its oven. It was very pleasant... More

Exquisite! One of the most tasteful and comfortable hotels I have ever stayed at. The food served in style is very delicious. The view and vibe of the terrace is breathtaking. Right in the middle of the old city and the rapidly evolving, art, entertainment and dining neighborhood of Istanbul. No need to mention the breakfast. My favorite meal of... More

Great staff here more than compensated for the few small niggles. One of our bags is still lost in transit by Emirates so it wasn't a great start to our week in Istanbul but the staff provided considerable assistance over and above expectations dealing with the very unhelpful airline. Excellent breakfast spread, location close to Tophane tram stop which is... More

On our second visit to Istanbul we spent a night at the sister hotel to Portus House in Karakoy , Istanbul! Impressed is an understatement! Every little detail was flawless! The service and hospitality was impeccable-very helpful-and what a treat the breakfast buffet! The selections were fantastic! Highly recommend -and we hope to return too! Walking distance to Galata Tower-great... More

The best place to stay if you like cool hipster local restaurants and shops, the area is beautiful and full of nice local people. The train stop is one block and it takes you to all the tourist areas. The staff is the nicest . The room was very stylish and quiet. The breakfast was superb! I'm staying there next... More

Staff were friendly, helpful and always available. Breakfast was like a feast, lots of fruit, cereals and interesting condiments/jams/cheeses were available along with average coffee and a small range of things from the kitchen like eggs. The hotel is located near the marina, the Museum of Modern Art and is next to a useful tram line which can take you... More

Overall an excellent stay at Sub Karakoy. The hotel is well appointed, modern and clearly well looked after. All of the staff that I interacted with were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are small-ish if you are used to North American hotel rooms, but we thought they provided more than enough space for the two of us. The furniture... More

My husband and I stayed at the SuB Karaköy for 5 nights and we really enjoyed it. The boutique hotel is directly at the heart of the Karaköy district which becomes more and more attractive. The staff is exceptional friendly which made our stay very special. After our first breakfast we got a detailed introduction to Istanbul and its places... More

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
