If you're looking for a budget B&B in Istanbul then I wouldn't go past this place. The Hanedan is right in the heart of Sultanahmet which is the main tourist area of Istanbul and only a few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. There is also a tram stop about 5 minutes walk away which was handy... More

Recently stayed at Hanedan Hotel for 2 nights during our time in Istanbul. Staff were very helpful and warm. A 7-10 minute walk from the rail station that arrives from Airport and all main attractions of Sultanhamet on your doorstep. To avoid the noise of people coming in and out of the hostel in the late hours ask for a... More

I'll book into the Hanedan next time I'm in Istanbul. The neighborhood is so well located but quiet. Getting to all the tourist sites is easy as the tram is close by as is the Blue Mosque and Ayasophia. The rooms are charming. The breakfast was wonderful. And the staff is incredibly helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hanedan. Barış, Sergey and the staff were really warm, friendly and helpful. Barış gave us lots of advice on things to see and getting around Istanbul. The breakfast were delicious with real variety and the hotel clean, comfortable and good value. Thoroughly recommended

The mattress of the bed was very hard, and extremely uncomfortable ,and we could feel the springs in the bed! It actually hurt our body. The sheet on the bed was very, very, rough to the skin. There was 2 layers of curtains in the room, a sheer, and a solid white curtain, but it did not block out the... More

This hotel is in a great location and walking distance to most things. The staff are very welcoming and offer you tips and advice on everything. Breakfast was great with a good view. Would definitely stay there again.

every member of staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean if a little spartan, bathroom spotless, bed comfortable, wifi worked, AC worked. Great view of Sea of Marmara from one side of the roof terrace and Aya Sophia from the other. The breakfast was very good and the lady who served it was very attentive -... More

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance from many of the main tourist attractions, and with an amazing view from the roof. The hotel is basic. What you see is what you get. The hotel is clean and reasonably priced. I stayed there with four friends and it was the hotel staff who made the trip really enjoyable.... More

Bargain rates for close proximity to Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc. Staff was friendly and helpful, got us to the airport when a surprise transit shutdown left us without a Metro connection. Terrace breakfast was always good. The one drawback was that the hotel's wi-fi server kept hijacking internet links and sending them to Turkish ad sites; other guests... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
