We stayed here at the beginning and end of our recent trip. The hotel is basic and very clean. We were comfortable there and will return. The entrance is on a quiet side street with no through traffic but around the corner from a street with many restaurants and shops. It is very close to major attractions. Things we liked:... More

i originally booked at Hotel Peninsula in a single room but they transferred me to Hanedan Hotel which has the same management in a double room. You will never feel that your lonely since the Hotel ambiance is so homey, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. from the reception to the housekeeper and to the lovely lady during breakfast. Not... My family of four stayed here for over a week in Istanbul- our first and only trip there. You can walk to so many sites, and to transportation, and to the waterfront in a few minutes. The staff is incredibly helpful- arranging rides to/from the airport-suggesting places to go and how to get around. Breakfasts overlook the Bosphorus and Sea... More

this hotel is located in walking distance to all the main sites in istanbul. It is a pretty cheap price, and there are no frills here. The beds are sooooooo uncomfortable as well. It was worth staying here only because of its proximity to all the main attractions in Istanbul. I had to see a chiropractor for the first time... More

If you're looking for a budget B&B in Istanbul then I wouldn't go past this place. The Hanedan is right in the heart of Sultanahmet which is the main tourist area of Istanbul and only a few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. There is also a tram stop about 5 minutes walk away which was handy... More

Recently stayed at Hanedan Hotel for 2 nights during our time in Istanbul. Staff were very helpful and warm. A 7-10 minute walk from the rail station that arrives from Airport and all main attractions of Sultanhamet on your doorstep. To avoid the noise of people coming in and out of the hostel in the late hours ask for a... More

I'll book into the Hanedan next time I'm in Istanbul. The neighborhood is so well located but quiet. Getting to all the tourist sites is easy as the tram is close by as is the Blue Mosque and Ayasophia. The rooms are charming. The breakfast was wonderful. And the staff is incredibly helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hanedan. Barış, Sergey and the staff were really warm, friendly and helpful. Barış gave us lots of advice on things to see and getting around Istanbul. The breakfast were delicious with real variety and the hotel clean, comfortable and good value. Thoroughly recommended

The mattress of the bed was very hard, and extremely uncomfortable ,and we could feel the springs in the bed! It actually hurt our body. The sheet on the bed was very, very, rough to the skin. There was 2 layers of curtains in the room, a sheer, and a solid white curtain, but it did not block out the... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
