We spent two nights here before embarking on our Holland America cruise. Great location easy walk to main sights and lots of great resturants. We were given a welcome drink with hosts who were eager to give us tips on where and when to visit popular sights. Which we found extremely helpful. Wonderful breakfast The hotel has great old world... More

We stayed 3 nights there for our first time in Istanbul and it was magical! The Hotel played a part in it obviously. The location is great! Just 2 minutes walk from the AyaSofya and the Blue Mosques. There are also many nice restaurants all around. The area is a bit touristic but not too crowded and the atmosphere is... More

The hotel is a warm and cozy place on a small street, a five-minute walk to the Hagia Sophia, a five-minute walk to the seaside and nearby a string of great Turkish restaurants (also a small children's park). It was near everything but not too close. Aside from afternoon tour buses passing by and the nearby taxi stand, it was... More

We spent 3 nights at Ishak Pasa Konagi hotel and the hotel staff was great. The location is perfect, you can basically walk everywhere, all the major attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast is delicious! They serve fresh orange juice every morning and their pastries are absolutely divine. The rooms are cozy and very clean. The staff is amazing, kind... More

Ishak Pasa Konagi The staff was excellent and did everything they could to make our stay exceptional. They offered complementary beverages upon our arrival. We booked the budget room, but upgraded, from reading other reviews. While Tomar showed us several nice rooms, we ended up choosing room 401, which we felt was a very romantic, and interesting choice, Romantic for... More

We had a room with a view of the ancient-outer wall of the Topkapı Palace. We arrived exhausted (long flight) & Mr. Tumer Geban (front desk evening reception) greeted us & kindly offered us a cup of Turkish tea, making us feel instantly welcomed! Room small, but nice & clean. Bed & pillows comfy. Omer Alkan (housekeeping), does a good... More

We had room 501, top floor with a balcony overlooking the Marmara sea. Renovated room, large shower, occasional sour smell. Variable Water pressure. The staff are simply amazing and outgoing. The location is perfect, walking distance to any Sultanahmet landmarks and restaurants. Free Wi-Fi, safe and small fridge. Breakfast is included, very good, fresh OJ. Nice terrace. Highly recommended

I stayed here in May 2014. I was in a first floor room. It was very quiet and comfortable, and the staff were all wonderful. The courtyard is wreathed with jasmine - a feast for eyes and nose while breakfasting or having an evening drink. The location is really great - in a very safe area, right around the corner... More

It was all really good. It all started with my fault of making wrong reservation and having mixed up the dates of stay. The hotel manager Tahsin was so kind to have it all solved out by phone. The whole stay was really good thanks to his attention and great advises. We went to the best fish restaurant, which Tahsin... More

I booked through Agoda and that has usually been fine. However, in this case it got me an economy room--in the basement. It was small, a bit damp and had no natural light so after two nights I moved up a floor and was much happier. As others have noted, the location is excellent, the breakfast tasty and the staff... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
