We stayed here for 4 nights in August, I'm so glad we chose to stay at Tashkonak Hotel. The location is great, close to all the landmarks, restaurants and shops and the Arasta bazaar is just around the corner. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the wifi was great too! Reception is manned 24hrs and the staff were... More

The reason that I book this hotel because it was really close to the Blue Mosque (about 10 min walk). The staffs are really nice! The breakfast is Turkish style buffet breakfast, so every morning I ate a lot. The room isn't that big but it's comfortable and clean.

I was here on business and my two sons were with me. We mixed in some sightseeing and this was the perfect location, just down the hill from the Blue Mosque and not far from the Grand Bazar. This property has a variety of rooms. We had a large room with 3 beds. The beds were not great but ok.... More

The hotel is quiet, in a safe area, and the Turkish style buffet breakfast was very good including eggs, cereals, cheeses, meats, delicious breads and jams... The 24 hour desk service was appreciated and they were most helpful with getting us directions to restaurants and sights. Our room,207, was a good size.

The suite I stayed in was in a separate building from the main building (where the lobby and breakfast were), which was a little weird. And the street noise got a little loud, which could be annoying for a lighter sleeper. Other than that, though, I had a nice stay at this hotel. The room was large, clean, and well-appointed.... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
