We stayed there about 17 people . All of us were friends. The rooms were clean . The restaurant was big but for breakfast there weren't many things to eat. if you don't go early for breakfast it was difficult for you to find eating , so it's necessary to go soon. the receptions were very kind. It's far from... More

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights this year. The staff and receptionists were friendly and nice. Since we traveled with a baby, we were in need of certain amenities like hot water, but the bell boys were glad and ready to help us. Had a little trouble plugging in our electronics as the adapter we had taken along... More

Stayed at Pianoforte Hotel in december 2013 for 3 nights. Welcome was warm and professional as it should be. Got very useful information from the reception and manager of the hotel (hopefully i wont write it wrong: Mr. Suleiman?), which made our visit in Istanbul much easier. Room (in total, bathroom as well!) was very modern (which was above our expactation!)... More

Located at a very strategic location, near the Aksaray Metro station and the big Fatih Mosque. The room I got was clean and comfortable, and staff were helpful and very gentle (even though there were some language understanding problems, but they did their best to understand our needs) The breakfast was humble enough to fill your stomach at morning Overall,... Well, let me be honest, I didn't pay much so I wan't expecting much either. But over all the location was good. Between Fatih and Aksaray close to the metro, Tramvay and bust stations. The hotel itself is on a steep road so u better be ready for that! The rooms and toilet are clean though the toilet smelled like... More

A good option in a very convenient location near the heart of the European Istanbul. Near the metro and and even possible to reach on foot the main touristic attractions of the city. The service is completely ok and the bedroom, although not big, was really cozy.

Staying in Fener & Balat

Neighborhood Profile
Fener & Balat
This sleepy and rather socially conservative area of Istanbul hosts a small but thriving Jewish community, the patriarchate of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and some of the most beautiful churches and Christian art in the world. Much of what’s most interesting to witness in Fener and Balat sits between the surviving ancient city walls of Constantinople and the serene shores of the Golden Horn. Despite the many splendid sights, historic attractions, stunning vistas, and warm Turkish welcome, the area remains largely unperturbed by the tourist trade that characterizes the atmosphere in nearby Sultanahmet and around the Grand Bazaar. Travelers that like to explore off the beaten track will reap big rewards for making the effort to visit this low-key part of town.
