Its a great place to stay and service is excellent. We arrive at around 12noon to the hotel. Of course the breakfast was over, but the manager asked if we had anything to eat yet and we said no since we just arrived to the hotel straight from the airport. He brought out breakfast for the two of us and... more
The Hotel Aslan is well located, close to the Blue Mosque. Near the hotel itself are a range of tourist focused services such as cafes and restaurants (and, of course, carpet sellers). Breakfast was provided on the roof-top terrace which had magnificent views over the the Bosphorus. We were given a choice of hot food cooked to order or fresh... more
This small hotel is in the heart of the Old City yet on a quiet street. The rooms have been recently renovated. My room was sparsely furnished but spotlessly clean. The air conditioner was quiet with remote control of temperature and fan speed. The management and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast (prepared to order and buffet) and view... more
Hotel Aslan is a perfect choice for budget visitors to Sultanahmet, the best area of Istanbul for tourists. The convenient location and accommodating staff couldn't be much better for any level of quality. Everything is very clean and in proper working order. The prices are very reasonable. My 18 year old daughter and I felt safe at every moment of... more
Its been 2 and a half months since I've returned from staying at the Hotel Aslan (formerly the Apricot) and from what I have read before my trip, I can only say that Jim the new owner has either improved or completely preserved all that was glorious concerning the former Apricot Hotel. There were four men that I feel compelled... more
I have bee to Istanbul numerous times but wanted to stay in Sultanahmet this past October. I found Hotel Aslan on tripadvisor and wanted to give it a try. Location: The location is excellent - basically it's right behind the blow mosque (3 minute walk) & to Hagia Sophia. There are a few Turkish bathes in the same area and... more
While the Apricot, which has changed names, is no longer a budget hotel, it has a great location, very welcoming staff and breakfasts made to order. The clerk was a great help in directing us to baths, etc, as well as arranging side trip to Cappodocia. Rooms are small but comfortable. We would stay there again. more
My wife and I stayed in room 401 at the Hotel Aslan Istanbul, [--], (formerly the Apricot) at Akbiyik Caddesi No. 75, Sultanahmet, Istanbul on 20 & 21 September 2007. The staff are helpful, courteous and friendly, always willing to render assistance. Even though the hotel was booked out, they even remembered our first names as they greeted us on... more
