We only stayed one night in the hotel, while waiting for our apartment rental to open up. As others have said, the location is perfect. I do strongly recommend staying in the Beyoglu (north of the Golden Horn)part of town. There are lots of restaurants -- chic, traditional, cheap and everything in between -- and the area at night is... more

We chose the hotel because of it's location. In this respect it was excellent. Room and bathroom were small but perfectly adequate and I got a very good deal on the price anyway, so can't really grumble. There is a roof terrace which gives great views across to the old city and the Galata Tower. The staff are friendly and... more

Hotel is in a prime location! It's right next to the tram, all the stores, bars, restaurants. It's constantly busy with people. Catching the train to Sultanahmet is easy. Staff is very helpful! Mohammed is very friendly. Room is clean and sufficient. more

Arrived just after dark, which mean it took some time to find the lights in the room. The main ceiling lamp had failed so lots of groping in the dark. I like a nice firm bed but theirs have no give at all so I have had bad hip pain since arriving. The bed was unmade the first day. Despite... more

Stayed in Galata Antique with a group for four nights. Hotel is small, but fantastically situated. Istiklal-street is very close, also tunnel to reach the Galata bridge and tram to Taksim. Very easy reach to shopping street and quarters with restaurants, cafes, bars and shops and Sultanahmet with Blue Mosque, Topkapi and Hagia Sodia. Rooms are small but clean. A... more

A nice small hotel with very friendly staff. The room was a bit small, but nicely furnished and clean. Location is excellent, and will be better once the underground to taksim is completed. The construction site of the tunel-station is just opposite the hotel, but we were not disturbed by any noise. Breakfast is a bit boring. more

Excellent value for money. Especially our room on third floor, where we had a view of the city. Very picturesque, romantic, warm atmosphere. Located in a central point of the city, near Tunel (the small, old subway of Istanbul) and Istiklal street.. Very clean also. The staff need some improvement with their english, and the breakfast could be better, but... more

Showed up without a reservation, and was shown two rooms, for 69 euros and 84 euros, both on the 5th floor. The 84 euro room was a corner, with three large windows, with city and sea views. The 69 euro room was smaller, with one window, overlooking a building about to be torn down and looking quite the eyesore. (We... more

Booked a five night stay with hotel directly on hotel website. Thankfully received complimentary pickup from airport to hotel. This newly renovated hotel was beautiful and comfortable. Hotel is in city center and also close to old city Sultanahmet. Staff are very friendly, and rooms were very nice and exceptionally clean, room service was provided every day. Lots of shops... more

I stayed at the Galata Antique for 4 nights, leaving 2 December. I was a little concerned after reading the comments about no hot water so I wanted to let folks know that I had hot water all the time. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the location is really excellent between Taksim and Sultanmet. It only takes... more
