Booked this hotel on Jetsetter for a good price. Picked it because it is small, designed by Philip Staark and is steps from Istikal Street which is a long pedestrian street in a good neigborhood filled with shops and restaurants. We had room 402. Perfect corner room with a queen sized bed. The hotel is a 19th century mansion converted... More

My husband and I have just come back from a trip to Istanbul. We stayed for a week at the Galata Antique Hotel and we loved it. It's right in the heard of the most happening area in town, but tucked away in a quiet part of it, which is ideal. The staff were wonderful. They did their utmost to... More

Rooms are small but well organized. The top level cafe where free breakfast is served provides an excellent view of the city and the Bosphorus. Few minutes walk from Istaqlal street where all the nice restaurants, bars, and shopping center are. Taqsim Square is only one subway stop away.

I first stayed at Galata Antique Hotel eight years ago for a long weekend and again this year for one week in May and a long weekend in June. The facilities in this beautifully restored palatial home are very fine but it is the staff's invariable solicitousness and efficiency that prompts me to endorse Galata Antique Hotel as a desirable... Beautiful hotel in beautiful part of istanbul. Surrounded by restaurants and bars and the Oxford street of istanbul nearby. Easy walking distance to all main sights. Staff very helpful and they gave all the women a red rose on valentines day which was a lovely touch. I could see galata tower from our balcony. Breakfast was delightful- continental with hot... A charming hotel with a friendly staff and excellant quality of services. The hotel is ideally located close to the funicular and Pera and Beyoglu districts, and also a 15-minute walk from Taksim Square or a 5 min walk from Galata Tower. Not to forget the magnificent panorama of the breakfast rooftop room, which allows to contemplate many of the... More

When we arrived for our honeymoon, we were given 2 twin beds -- which was not what we reserved. They found us another room relatively quickly. The room was large, but had very, very dirty/dingy carpets. With the exception of one very nice staff member, most of the staff spoke limited English so communication was a challenge. The free breakfast... More

The hotel is incredibly well located to explore the city for first timers (which we were). Rooms are well laid out and efficient. Bathrooms are clean. Views are interesting. Tilt and turn windows which operate perfectly well and allowed for fresh air while sleeping. But above all this, the value of the hotel comes with the great disposition of the... More

Great location - easy access to Istiklal Street with lots of bars, restaurants & shops. Also easy access to transport system and all the wonders of this amazing city. Room was small but we didn't spend much time there - there is so much to see and do outside the room. Staff were helpful overall recommending great restaurants and the... More

The photos of the rooms are misleading as the rooms barely have enough space for a standard double bed. There are no wardrobes and if you sit on the toilet you will have no room for one of your legs. Breakfast was very poor also and you need to be in early before certain things run out. On the plus... More
