Got to Akgun in the middle of the night after a delayed flight from Bangkok, just for a few hours of sleep before continuing to Stockholm. Reception awful, rudest we have ever encountered, plus the slowest. Dirty sheets with holes in them. Could feel every spring in the bed. Walls and carpets dirty. Hinges loose. Lock not working in door.... more

Arriving at the hotel in the afternoon wasn’t a pleasant welcome with grumpy front desk staff. We got a room with two twin beds and not a double bed as ordered. Going back to the front desk, no one wanted to deal with us. Only after I raised my voice did the reception manager come forward to assist. So for... more

I was a part of a group of 40, and the Akgun was booked for us by a tour company. Based on various reviews I more or less dreaded the 3 nights I'd stay there. I was in for a pleasant surprise. My room was spacious, comfortable, clean and well kept. The bathroom was modern and clean. The reception staff... more

We were there for four nights. staff not as professional and/or polite as expected. Rooms average, bathroom very small and disapointing (far from being rated as 5 stars - we would say more like 2 stars). We had to repeat each evening the same requests. They were saving on toilet paper, soap etc. ....Breakfast not reach enough and last but... more

You have got to be joking giving this hotel a 5 Star Rating. A Blind man would be lucky to give it even 3 stars. It doesnt even deserve that! I travel on average once a month and to 4 and 5 star hotels, the morning staff are so impolite and rude, I am surprised they are employed there. In... more

My advice - if you get the choice between Akgun Hotel and a tent, choose the tent! Rooms were very bad: elecrtical wiring hanging out of the wall - serious safety/fire hazard, the lifts continually broke down (while you were in them!), overcharged us on our laundry by telling us AFTER we had it done that it was charged in... more

Giving this hotel 5 stars is a joke I have seen 3 star properties better than this. We checked in as we had an overnight stay in istanbul. The rooms are very small, smaller than what you imagine. the bathroom was old and had a moist smell. The staff was grumpy and most unpolite. They behaved nothing like proffessionals. When... more

We stayed here for 2 nights, and a first night was an absolute nightmare: our room was facing very busy steet (at any time of the day or night), bed was very hard, our room smelled like smoke, airconditioning wasn't working and they didn't have a safe ( in either rooms). The next nigth we asked for a room facign... more

We stayed at this hotel with a group of 150 others. They could not cope with the check-in and the lift struggled with baggage and people. The rooms were well sized and clean and neat, but nothing special. The breakfast was enough to get you started, although they had some strange items in the buffet! I found the staff to... more
