This wonderful hotel should have 5 stars instead of 3! The location is extraordinary - so close to the highlights of the old city - 2 minutes to Hagia Sophia and to the cistern, 5 minutes to Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The staff speak English and German, they are very friendly and helpful and even sent me birthday greetings... More

My husband and I just got back from a fantabulous vacation in Istanbul. We stayed at The And Hotel in Sultanahmet area. Though we had not booked a room with a view, they were kind enough to accommodate us in one as that was available at the time we checked-in. Thank God for that!!! The view of Hagia Sofia from... Extremely good location in town, very short - only minutes - walking distance to Aya Sofya, Blue Mosce, Tokapi, Cistern Reservoir etc. Hotel is very good, friendly and helpful staff, I had a small but cosy room with very good bathroom (it looked brand new), perfectly clean. My room was under the restaurant and some evening there was noise from... More

The hotel is very nicely placed in walking distance to most of the attractions in the area. Metro and Tram access is very close. The hotel is nicely serviced with friendly staff. Amenities not present are a kettle and personal iron due to some government restrictions so bring your own. View from restaurant on terrace is amazing and you can... More

The location is absolutely perfect for the tourist. We found the hotel staff friendly, especially Yosef at the front entrance. The only negative is that the double room nearly had enough room to fit one case, let a lone 2. The view from our room made up for that disappointment. The view from the restaurant, particularly at night is stunning.

I decided on this hotel based on its closeness to the Hagia Sophia and other tourist attractions. It is literally a block away from the Hagia Sophia, the location cannot be beat! The rooms, I must say are very...quaint (small!), but I was ok with this as it was just me in the room and I was really only in... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
