We booked a room in this hotel because one of our friends, working in a traveling agency, recommended it. She even had a special voucher sent for us, requesting the best available room, 'VIP' if possible. The joke was on us! We received a room on the second floor, at the end of the hallway, which was supposed to be... more

We booked the Royal Hotel through a local travel agency, trusting their opinion, and were quite disappointed. The hotel looks really old and warn, especially the bathrooms, where shower leaked and toilet did not flush properly in our friends' room. As said in other commentaries, the walls are REALLY thin - you can hear everything your neighbours are doing +... more

I like the location of the hotel, right in the shopping districts. I simply walked outside to get a bottle of water or looking around in the shops or resturants. It is not far from Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque. It is also close to the metro station, Aksaray stop where it is easy to get to the airport or other... more

A complete Embarassment of a hotel. Marketed as a 4 Star hotel, its not even close to deserving one star. Terrible service, terrrible rooms(dirty and dated) and appaling food. The Location is good, about 15 mins walk to the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque. But this hardly makes up for the other things you have to put up with... more

First of all this markets itself as a 4* hotel. I have been to many 4* hotels and this is not one, this should be a 3* OK, we will start with the good points. The hotel gives a good service overall, the cleaning and organising of the room is good (well after I reorganised the room myself to create... more

I absolutely recommend this hotel because we spent lovely moments there. The location is great, near the Grand Bazar , the staff very friendly (very good English) , the room clean and the bad fantastic. We also enjoyed the breakfast. more

To start with, this is not a real 4 stars hotel!! I'd say is not higher than 2 stars...It's too bad this hotel was the only bad thing I found in my trip to Istambul. Good location but dreadful service, old and dirty rooms and really poor flexibility to the customers. I don't recommend it at all!!! David.- more

We stayed at the Royal Hotel for 3 nights in Istanbul as part of the itinerary of our 8 days North Bound tour of Turkey. There were 6 of us in our group and the first night. We were given rooms at the back section of the hotel which was very noisy from the disco music coming from the side... more

First night in the older part of the hotel--small cramped room with two beds Very clean but basic. However very noisy nightclub kept us awake for several hours. For the next 3 nights we transfered to a far better and bigger room in the new part overlooking main road. Quiet and everything fine.Beds comfortable and bathe and showers functioned well.... more
