This is the second time I stayed at the Historia Hotel in Sultanahmet. I highly recommend it to travelers, especially women traveling alone. The staff is excellent and the location is perfect for seeing the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, and the bazaar. There are lots of good restaurants in the area and you are awakened by the call to prayer from... More

A hotel with charm. Very friendly staff helping you to get your boarding card, giving you tourist information, booked hamam and always offered you some tea or coffee with a smile on there lips. Wi-fi in the reception. Nice place ( a little backyard) to enjoy your breakfast. Sun in the morning.

Hotel Historia is located in the middle of everything. When my legs are tired from having visited all Istanbul's highlights, Historia is just around the corner and offers me the possibility of sitting at my own balcony with a smoke, a drink and a view to Bosperus - which is worth gold. The service is perfect, the rooms are clean... More

I am travelling a lot and Historia has been one of my favorite hotels since 1988. Helpful and competend staff, nice sea view rooms, full European breakfast buffet - and perfect located in the center of old Istanbul. Looking forward to my next stay!

My stay at this hotel was exactly what I was looking for. The staff were friendly, my room was big, comfortable and clean, the breakfast was great and the location is ideal! As a solo female traveller I felt safe walking to the hotel late at night. I'm hope to return to Historia Hotel one day!

We arrived at the Hotel at 1am after travelling 12 hours only to find there was no room available for that night although I had booked 2 and a half months prior and emailed two days before, we were given all the usual excuses and were told we'd be compensated with free transfer back to the airport and a surprise... The clerk at the check in desk verbally abused clients, including a number of middle-aged American women. It was a shocking experience. The rooms are tiny, and overlook railroad tracks. The area is very touristy, but the main point is that the staff humiliated the guests.

Hotel is ideally located for the big two only a couple of hundred metres from the Blue Mosque. Good choice for breakfast and manager and all staff helpful and friendly. Only marked it down as our room and bathroom a little small.

We stayed here on a family vacation for three nights and couldn't have found a better place. The Blue Mosque is at one end of the street and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The family room was great - just the right size, with a small balcony and even a bit of privacy for my wife... More
