Like most reviewers, we are having the same issue with Taksim star....just arrived and we are told we cannot get the room we booked..we booked a Deluxe Family room for myself, wife and16 year old daughter. We are now being housed in a deluxe room and a bed is made on the floor for her to sleep and we are... More

We reserved the Penthouse Suite two weeks before traveling. After a long travel day, we arrived ready to enjoy our room. After checking in, and taking our payment, the staff told us that the room we booked was not available our first night and put us in an inferior room which was neither the penthouse or a suite, despite the... The staff was great but the hotel was bad, the beds and towels were filthy. And our room was Besphore view and it's was in the 2nd floor and the view was air conditioners and first floor roof. And the room was not sound proof I was answering our phone which wasn't our room phone it was another room's phone... More

This place was really bad and I mean really really scatty. Staff are insanely rude, reception have no clue what is going on. They provide zero services without a tip (they'll stand there waiting for a tip I tell you). Our key card didn't work for 4 days and on the last day when we threatened to get a hold... More

We stayed in a suite with the Bosporus view. The view wasn't quite what we expected because there were a bunch of exhaust fans outside our room which made noise. There is also a club below the hotel with no sort of sound proofing and you can feel the base thorough the night up to about 4 or 5 in... More

Convenient is the word to describe the Taksim Star. The location is SUPERB with Istiklal street just round the corner, a heaven for people who love shopping! The place is surrounded by restaurants and cafes which stay open until late in the night. There is also a small convenience store just next to the hotel from where I used to... More

First night at 3am I asked for a change of room since my room 107 was vibrating loudly from disco bar downstairs. I was lucky to get another room (my collegue was not), seventh floor was quiet. Also this room was very small and both bathrooms had some issues with smell from sinks, although rooms were OK clean. Except one... More

We stayed in the Sultanahmet area at the start of our trip to Turkey, with Cappadocia and Izmir in between, and then Taksim upon our return to Istanbul. Our room (203) was not huge by any means - in fact you could not open the door much more than at a 45 degree angle without it hitting the bed! AND... More

My friend and I stayed at the Taksim Star Hotel. It is situated in a very location special if you need to catch the shuttle to the Sabiha Gokcen airport. The airport is situated in a Asian part of Istanbul, so far from the city centre and to use the shuttle is the best and cheaper option. The Hotel it... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
