We were booked in here for four nights as part of a low cost package so were not sure what to expect. It's 5-10 mins from the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque, with lots of (mainly overpriced) restaurants and some quiet backstreets. Despite being by a taxi stand the hotel is fairly quiet (at least with the windows closed) and... More

The location is right next to sultanahmed mosque and grand bazaar. Definitely recommended for location. However, The staff miscalculated the euro to dollar conversion rate upon check in and tried to charge me more. this was however corrected once i questioned. They allowed me a late check out and housekeeping did a good job. Breakfast was same daily and some... More

My friend and I stayed here for two days. There is nothing exceptional about this hotel, except its location. The hotel is near all the main attractions, such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc. The price we paid was very fair for the room. The room was clean, yet showed signs of wear and tear. The front desk staff was... More

I love Istanbul and I love this part of the city. The Albatros is just down the road from the Blue Mosque. In fact within a 30 minute walking distance you have everything from the Grand Bazaar, to Haggia Sofiya and the ferrys down by Galata Bridge. Plus there is a tramline which can take you across the Golden Horn... More

Beautiful hotel from outside. Unfortunately the experience from inside was opposite. If you choose the Economy room in the basement than do not expect that the room will look like the rooms on the pictures at booking.com or here on tripadvisor. The worst of it was vacant sound dampening so you could hear everything from the other rooms. Only window... More

We were put in a room which was in the "basement". We asked before hand a room in upper floors. Air conditioning worked great. Room pretty small but for a budget hotel OK. Hotel from outside really nice. Great location in every sence.

This is a superb building but sadly the area that surrounds it is rather rundown, it is a little off the beaten track for tourists but it is very quiet at night. The website promises rooftop dining but unfortunately it was closed during my visit, this was disappointing as the views over the city are very good. The staff are... More

Good: The rooms were big (the ones with a balcony) and always clean. The hotel is Extremely well located. Weak: Breakfast is a big joke. Seriously I have never in my whole life seen such a poor breakfast. not even in a 2 stars hotel. We (and we were not the only one) brought our own bread from outside in... More

They take photos from selected view of this hotel ( actually I can not say it is a hotel) with special camera to shows it much bigger and beautiful! But the reality is opposite. It is an small and old building which is not clean at all! Even if you open the windows, you can not close it. The beds... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
