To start with I had a good and enjoyable stay here. But this is unfortunately not a 4 Stars Hotel. Maybe it was so, but not anymore. The rooms were small (from my experience it is normal in Istanbul), the furniture was old. The bathroom was clean but for the shower, there was black stain on the edges. We had... More

A decent replica of a "Carlton" Hotel. Parking is inside a neighbourhood courtyard and looks safety. Noisy rooms and staff well trained but mostly oriented to tips - but this belongs to local culture, isn't it? Wifi works from time to time...:(((

Carlton hotel is definitely the place to stay for anyone looking for a good place for a very good price in Istanbul. It is very convenient for family, business or leisure. The hotel is a prefect location for shopping, dining, and is in walking distance to everything. Exceptional service and very friendly staff (Ercen & Ertugral), we had a last... More

Very worm welcome from the entrance through the personnel that work in different areas. Very helpful receptionists. Ask for any help, any info, entertainment, they are ready to provide location, transportation tips, etc. Explore (walk, preferable) the area to find reasonable price clothes, restaurants, historical places. Walking distance to The Grand Bazaar is 10 min. MUST try Turkish bath (Amam)... More

Only location is good, hotel was just horrible. This hotel is absolutely not 4 star hotel. Photos on web site have nothing in common with actual rooms. 1) We booked triple room about one month in advance, but we were placed in double room with additional bed. Actually third "bed" was not bed at all, it were just three mattresses,... More

We were a bit afraid of what we would found because of the bad critics in trip advisor. But in fact we found a very nice and available receptionist, who gave us great indications about what to visit and how. Upstairs we found a comfortable room, big enough to 2 persons. It wasn't clean enough to a ocidental 4-star hotel... More

This hotel is so far from 4 star type of hotel. Rooms are not nice and smell ugly. You can find find holes in the walls in rooms. Breakfeast are ordinary, you have to pay extra for orange juice and omelete. Spa and wellnes cost 50 dollars. We have reserved room with one king size bed, but we got room... More

So uncharming. Location is quite good, but the staff seems to be uinterested in their gunst. Can NOT be recommandet

This is not a 4 star hotel! It's dark and depressing, room was awfully small, with bad smell. Small bathroom, uncomfortable beds, and not really clean! Very noisy( u can hear almost everything from next room! Wi fi very very poor! The only good thing was the location and the helpful reception staff.I don't recoment this hotel!

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
