We booked the hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor but came back quite quite disappointed. The only thing in the hotel's favour is its location. You step out and you're at the Sultanahmet tram station. True, from the breakfast area you have a mindblowing view of the Blue Mosque. The breakfast buffet is also very good. But the good things... more

Just enjoyed a very nice stay with my son and my friend, his godmother. Very warmly welcomed by all the staff, who were very helpful, recommending more off-the-tourist track places to go too. We had a large, if basic room, but comfortable and plenty of space for 3 of us. Ample breakfast buffet, and ideal location right near the sights,... more

Great position - very near all main attractions. Rooms very dated and even though I paid extra for the jacuzzi room I found it very basic and ordinary. There were no tea making things in the room but the service from reception was excellent and they brought us tea by room service. Erdel on reception was charming and helpful. more

The Ambassador Hotel is a short walk away from the Sultanahmet Tramway stop. The hotel is set back from the street a bit, and is very quiet. No need to take a taxi if you can make it onto the Tramway. Everyone working there was very nice and friendly. We had some issues with a clogged shower and they attempted... more

We arrived in Istanbul a day early and the Hotel Nomade arranged for us to stay at the Ambassador. Our one night there was just terrific and we wish we'd booked our entire stay there. It is conveniently located in Sultanahmet but set back a bit and very quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was perfect. more

Helpful, friendly and welcoming. Ergin on reception and Nuray and other reception staff and the Manageress Mel make this experience of a well run hotel in Istambul a pleasure to stay in - home from home. The staff provide a map of local attractions like "crazy horse" and give lots of extra local information of where to visit. I would... more

I booked this hotel because of its proximity to the best locations in Sultan Ahmet, and also because it has its own in-house spa facilities! No need to walk or take a taxi to a turkish bath -- you can book a bath and a massage with the reception a few hours in advance anytime during your stay -- and... more

Just back from a 4 night break at this wonderful little hotel in the best city in the world. I have stayed at other hotels in Istanbul, but i can honestly say this was the nicest and the friendliest. We chose the junior suite, perfectly positioned just beside the lift and the stairs for the roof terrace and breakfast. The... more

We just came back home (November 2008). We spent 5 unforgetable days at the Ambassador Hotel. This is fantastic little hotel located in a quiet street in the heart of Sultanahmet . It is located only a few minutes walk from Agia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, shoping center, restaurants, caffe shops...... It was excellent just what we needed. The... more

My wife and I have traveled on virtually all continents and in many of the worlds great cities. Based on recomendation of a friend, we spent a week at the Ambassador. Particularly for the price, it was one of the best hotels we have experienced. Not only was the location supurb, but the room was clean and well cared for,... more
