i stayed in Ambassador Hotel last week. Eveything was good, had no problems, especially the cute guy at the reception made my whole stay much more fun. He was really helpful. His name is Erhan and i would like to thank him for all his help during my stay... I would recommend everyone to stay at this wonderful hotel at... more

My husband and I spent a marvelous week in this beautiful hotel. The hotel offered excellent accommodations and the view we enjoyed while eating our meal in the hotel restaurant was spectacular. Just a few short minutes from the hotel we were able to see the Blue Mosque, simply beautiful. We also spent a fabulous day at the Grand Bazaar... more

Room was a bit outdated and could do with a minor facelift. Location on the other hand cant be beat. Having breakfast on the terrrace in full view of the Bosphorus Sea, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and other historical and cultural sites is a site to behold. Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace is within 5 minutes walking distance from the... more

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Ambassador hotel in Istanbul. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff or the facilities on offer. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpfull and couldn't do enough for us, making us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The rooftop restaurant is fatastic and the view... more

I chose this hotel because of the central location in Sultanahmet. While the facilties are dilapidated, the hotel staff was the worst I have encountered. They were rude, disrespectful and insulting. I had to hold some business meetings and my Turkish counterparts were systematically questioned (in Turkish so I couldn't understand) as to the purpose of their presence in the... more

Dear Harry2747 and Dan011, Thank you for taking the time to post your reviews. As I recall, you were both traveling together. Firstly let me say how sorry I am to hear that you were unhappy with our hotel and for any disappointment. For security reasons we do not allow guests to take a guest from outside of the hotel...

We booked this hotel based on the reviews on here and were extremely disappointed when we actually stayed here. The hotel has tiny, cramped rooms which are full of old, worn and tired looking furniture. The bathrooms are very small. The TV in the room did not work. The room was always hot and stuffy and the air conditionining could... more

A genuine review written by an American on a group trip - the Ambassador was very willing to accommodate our group at various junctions where people switched out or changed reservations while remaining polite. When some of us returned late in the night "chatty" (Check out the Sah Bar around the corner - excellent owner/employees), they were very polite about... more

Dear Bharig, Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. I am very pleased to learn that you found our hotel to be good value for money. After reading your comments I have checked the breakfast buffet myself and realised that you have been right. Changes have been made to guarantee a hot breakfast from now...

Unless you want to spend all your money on a generic hotel where you could be staying anywhere - stay at the Ambassador. The rooms are beautifully well-appointed and the location can't be beat. Imagine your breakfast looking over the Blue Mosque with the all of the history and culture of Istanbul laid out under your feet. You can walk... more

The hotel is situated in the old part of Istanbul, well within reach of the main attractions. We spent 3 days and received a very nice welcome. The breakfast is excellent with an excellent view of the Grand Mosque. Very good for a first stay. The only drawback is the "wakeup" call from the mosque nearby at 05:00. more

We stayed here in November and had a brilliant time. The location of the hotel is perfect - right in the heart of the Sultanhamet area. Just step outside and the Blue Mosque & Haghia Sofia are on your doorstep. The views from the little breakfast room are spectacular, especially at sunset or dawn (early return flight!) - you can... more
