Couldn't have chosen a better place for my short stay of 2 nights. The hotel is in the centre of the old city, next to the tram station (perfect and easy connection to airport via tram and metro). The rooms are modern, the bathroom amenity kit is a nice plus. But the best part of the hotel is the early... More

You cannot get much closer to the centre of Sultanahmet than this hotel - it is quite literally right on your doorstep. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast very good and the views from the restaurant is incredible. There are many restaurants nearby and it is right by a metro stop. The staff have been friendly... More

I LOVED THE PLACE! Lovely, friendly and helpful staff, they make you feel like home. Varied and delicious food, their apple tea is my favorite. Great location! All the good restaurants, bazars and most important landmarks in Sultanahmet near you. It's where you want to stay during your trip to Istanbul!!

The staff were amazing, very helpful. The hotel itself was clean and very comfortable however a downside was our air conditioning was broken in our room and we had repeatedly told the staff about this however this problem was not resolved. Having said that, the hotel is the best location for sight-seeing in Istanbul. The Blue Mosque was only 5... More

We only spent one night in this hotel in September 2015 before joining a cruise ship the next day but it was very nice and very comfortable. It's down a very narrow and very busy pedestrianised street in Sultanhamet so our taxi from the airport couldn't pull up at the door. But the driver was obviously well used to this... More

Firstly I'd like to say that I hope everybody is safe after the recent bombing nearby which happened a few days after I left, fortunately for me. This hotel is in the perfect location, right in the heart of Sultanahmet..the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern are all within spitting distance and the Grand Bazaar is easily walkable.... This tiny hotel is located in the heart of the tourist centre of Sultanhamet, so it's close (walking distance) to lots of the sights. The staff are friendly, the apple tea and cakes are great, the view from the breakfast room is stunning ... The breakfast is Turkish style, so lots of meze type dishes which I wasn't used to... Very clean, wonderful breakfast, very friendly and helpful with tourist questions! They even gave me a decadent chocolate desert for my birthday. Highly recommend this hotel. Close many museums, the Grande Bazzar, and the tram.

We stayed at the Ambassador Hotel for five nights, and had a lovely time. The team of staff (reception, runner, chef) were welcoming, accommodating and super helpful. Whether it was offering copious amounts of hot tea and cakes on a winter's day, or tips on what to do and see in the city. The rooms are not huge, but clean... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
